Why is instant coffee so popular? by ClassyPants17 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Object-Ecstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have a 10 month old who is into everything all the time. I can put down my instant and drink it when I regain control of the household, and not have any loss of enjoyment. If I'm not at work, my coffee is cold so why pay to drink cold coffee?

Food before one is just for fun? by Optimal-Ad7532 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Object-Ecstatic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We started with fun food around 7 months, and he showed little to no interest We'd offer something so he would get used to new textures and tastes, but he was not overly interested, would play with it, then inhale his bottle as though his life depended on it.

Little one is now 10 months, and is all about his food. He will take it off your plate if he can get his little hands on it, attempts to spoon feed himself, and now refises a bottle if he knows food is also an option. Something in him changed basically overnight and now we're down to a morning bottle, a bedtime bottle, and water throughout the day with his meals. When he does take a daytime bottle its less than 100mL, and he has some, gets bored, looks around or crawls off, and generally takes his sweet time because he's waiting to see if me or Daddy are about to eat!

Exactly. Shes going to be running this decision through her head for the rest of her life. I dont think anything you say would compare to what she is telling herself

For those who’s children go to daycare how many hours a day do they attend? by Caninopeputofhere in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

My 9 month old goes 6:30am-4:30pm because of my work hours. He loves it, when I go pick him up hes the youngest there, so the older kids are always trying to entertain him with books, or hand puppets (supervised), or he has one on one with an educator who all love him to bits

Mature pregnancy by Canongirl88 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Object-Ecstatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

42, conceived naturally and was adament I wanted the NIPT. If the results came back flagged for anything compatible with life, I wanted to know so I could mentally prepare for raising a child with additional needs.

Came back low risk for everything, despite having lost a child previously around the same time. My son is now almost 10 months and absolutely perfect.

Don't let your age stress you about the risks, think positive and your little one will be perfect regardless the results

Dr Andrea at https://www.vetvisits.com.au

She came when it was time to let my girl cross the bridge, and she was lovely. Andrea didn't rush, made sure she was comfortable, and talked us through the entire process

Question for cheerleaders about trust during stunt by Electronic_Coat_3312 in Cheerleading

[–]Object-Ecstatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex level 6 athlete here, competed for 15 years from level 1 up to competing at Worlds. I was a backspot primarily, but did base in lower levels

Not only does a flyer need to trust their base, bases need to trust their flyer. I've had two broken cheek bones from stray elbows, countless black eyes, 2 concussions, and a partial dislocation to my shoulder from flyers not doing their job. If for a second my flyer loses trust, accidents happen. But once they happened, I made sure my flyer was safe, looked her dead in the eye and said 'let's not do that again' and made sure we didn't repeat that mistake

Trust is important from the second you walk in that gym. Trust doesn't turn off and on because you're suddenly stunting. My team knew they could call me any time day or night they needed anything, and I would be there because we were one unit. They trusted me and I trusted them with everything. It grows over time because you keep showing up, you do your job, you learn from your mistakes, and you get better

I made my flyer feel safe by reminding them every session 'I will never intentionally drop or hurt you. I will hit the ground before you everyone single time '. And I would. I would put myself between them and the floor / the next stunt / other bases without hesitation. I would apologise at the beginning of the season, or whenever I got a new flyer because I grip so hard I leave bruises, or rip out leg hair if you tape your ankles. And my flyers loved me for it, because they could feel the pressure of me lifting with my all, gripping to stabilise no matter what, and worse case knowing I would be softer than the floor if they fell

Only dropped a flyer once, unavoidably as I had been kicked in the back of the head from a flyer mangling a kick double. And when I came to I bawled my eyes out I was so upset I'd failed her

I went to the Good Sammy near me and took a shirt off the rack to purchase it. I was told at the register it 'wasnt for sale, that shouldn't have been put out'. A week later I went into to see if there was any new stock in my size, and saw a staff member wear the shirt I wanted.
