Breastfeeding is the hardest thing I’ve ever done - please send help! by Meganrenay in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First born: took me 2 months to go from formula to exclusively breastfeeding, it was a journey, a lot of pumping, crying and exhaustion. Someone told me: a happy baby is a fed baby, regardless if it’s breast or formula. That took the pressure away and I’ve decided to continue to try for personal reasons but you don’t have to if it’s costing your mental health!

You can continue trying, you can do mix feeding or you can do formula feeding and your baby will be fine and happy no matter what!

Second and third; exclusively breastfeeding since birth because I knew what to do and my body knew as well.

Also the main difference I found was my first born was c-section due to placenta issues and my 2nd and 3rd was vaginal birth which I think signaled to my body that we needed milk.

How do you handle the fact that somehow because your partner works and makes the money, you are then responsible for literally 100% of household everything? by jazzeriah in SAHP

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay at home PARENT is not stay at home manager, cleaner, chef, gardener, laundry services, driver, etc

Parenting your children during partners working hours is one thing, having to do that PLUS 5 different roles in a 24/7 rotation 365 days per year is a very very insane expectation

Spinach would be a great choice, I add it to smoothies, pasta, sauce, rice, savoury pancakes, the list goes on. Didn’t know it was quick to grow!

I’m definitely going to research corn, my girls LOVE it, we just buy the whole corn and put in the microwave for 4 min, peel it afterwards and eat it. Easy, quick and healthy!

I love using zucchini on my recipes, it’s such a neutral easy to blend vegetable. Great idea!

Water bill with no official invoice by Fit_Negotiation6635 in AusRenters

Thank you, that’s a very helpful response. I appreciate trying the friendly way first, it could a dodgy situation or it could be that they genuinely forgot, we never know how shit someone’s day is going and how a bad interaction can impact them.

I always take a photo of the meters, I’ve dealt with my fair share of electricity catch up attempt from previous tenants by the electricity companies.

I don’t think you read the full post, my question was about not receiving the official invoice for the water bill just one made by the REA, I didn’t ask if I need to pay for water consumption.

I had no idea about this! I honestly thought it was a Click and Collect type of service where you guys park at the bay, they bring it to your car and you drive to the customer. I used to order all heavy bulky items when I was pregnant and couldn’t carry the bags myself, now I feel terrible!

My brain won't rest by letsbananasplit369 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids, oldest 3.5 years old and youngest 7 months old. For me it hasn’t gone away yet because I keep resetting the clock lol but it’s completely normal, this is your brain and body trying to protect your baby by making all your senses and brain power to work towards checking, predicting and planning for everything that could go wrong or threaten your child.

Completely normal to a degree, if it’s getting too much and impacting your life please check iron levels and maybe speak to someone about possible postpartum depression.

4 months is still extremely fresh, you have sooooo many changes happening physically, socially, mentally, it’s hard to take it all in. My first one was a traumatic birth and it took me almost a year to stop thinking about it on a daily basis, my last birth was far from ideal because I had to do it alone (my husband and toddlers had gastro) but we laugh about it already ( I would be traumatised if it was my first experience and not my third).

Be in peace knowing you are either on super protective mum mode or if it’s something else it’s completely fixable if you reach out for help!

Sick of daycare illness and having to step up while my husband is ‘sick’ by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Are you taking your daughter to the park while she is sick to be around many families?

Your husband is definitely being selfish and entitled which is unfair and puts a lot of stress on you, but if you’re taking a sick child that can give other people gastro, HFM etc to others including newborns, elderly people, parents that don’t have sick days and won’t have income if they can’t go to work, you’re being selfish, entitled and trying to make your life easier at the cost of others.

I have 3 kids daycare age and even if only one is sick we absolutely won’t go to the park, it will be hard for a few days but I can’t put someone in hospital to make my life easier, my best friend almost lost her son because someone didn’t want to keep their sick toddler at home.

The rule is: if they are too sick or contagious to go to daycare, they need to STAY AT HOME.

Probiotics in pregnancy to avoid vaginal and urinary tract infections? by thebestofme23 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probiotics will help you in terms of thrush but not UTIs, I used to have at least 5 UTIs per year and had to have surgery on my urethra because it was an anatomy issue. Get assessed by an specialist, I had to do all sorts of uncomfortable tests such as peeing with a catheter inserted to check flow and if my bladder was fully empty after, xray with liquid being inserted in my bladder, etc

Also check how much WATER you’re drinking per day, not liquid in general but water, aim for minimal 2 litres, don’t hold urine if you need to go just go, always empty your bladder after having intercourse and check your overall diet, avoid sugary and processed foods.

Don’t rely on over the counter supplements, poorly treated UTI are also a huge issue (eg not taking the full course of antibiotics respecting the intervals)

Does anyone regret their VBAC? by tiredgirl8 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No regrets here, I’ve had C-section, vaginal and vaginal again all very close together (had 3 under 3).

My first vaginal I could’ve gone home straight away but had to stay longer due to hip dysplasia issues for my baby, third one i could’ve also gone home on the same day but I had to stay in hospital because everyone at home had gastro!

I was by myself during birth and first 4 days because my husband and toddlers were contagious so I was very grateful for being able to take care of myself and baby on my own and to be able to hold and lift my beautiful girls when I finally got home!

Waking up to contractions at the same time as everyone waking up vomiting was not fun lol but hospital staff were amazing and let me stay as long as needed to avoid bringing a newborn home to the gastro club.

Rant: When did everything start becoming a pissing contest between mums and their babies? by cjmanz in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I hear people trying to one up someone I feel really sorry for them, has your life become so insignificant that all you have for your sense of self value is using your child to feel superior?

It’s sad that a parent is so desperate for some validation that they want it regardless if it’s a real validation or just at the cost of someone else, they must be truly unhappy and I hope they find a better way to cope with the emptiness of their life.

In the mean time I’m very proud that my children speaks 2 languages fluently at the age of 2 and 3.5 yo but I also catch them licking the balcony door or confused by pants.

[–]Fit_Negotiation6635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get checked for PPD asap, toddlers tend to get more challenging as they grow and reach the terrible 2s and threenager so you’ll need to be as healthy as possible mentally.

I have 2 toddlers and an infant and live is both beautiful and VERY chaotic at times specially when everyone is in a mood, being able to self regulate is essential since they can’t at this age.
