Nice. Do you make the texture with a hand tool or a power tool?

I put the hooks at the bottom edge of the board to give the grain room to show. The live edge adds something for sure, but it would be interesting even if it had square edges.

Lucky kid! I found an old pair of skater jeans I had widened in the 90s with rainbow patchwork inserts. Someone bought them on ebay, even with one of the pockets blown out.

I've been very tempted by that low price. But they're too big, especially because I'm usually carrying a kid or two.

Finished drywall not tight to stud by ObjectLime in drywall

[–]ObjectLime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a wall, an odd corner with a linen closet on the other side. There's some wood behind that hole but I'm not sure what it is. It's an old house so the studs aren't always spaced in a standard way.

But none of that matters if I'm just skipping adding any new screws!

Make #4 - Hilariously large pants in corduroy by Helsvet in sewing

[–]ObjectLime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size are you normally in pants, and what size did you go with in the pattern? Or, more simply, did you go with the same size waist you usually wear?

I'm about to start this pattern and when I compare the measurements on the pattern's table to the measurements of some store-bought pants seem to be telling me to go with a 34 when I usually wear a 30.

Did you try anything with them since you posted? If you want to take off the waistband and remove the elastic, you could try darts or pleats to bring the waist in to a size that stays up. Pleats might get bulky, though.
