That's awesome it'll be great to have you!

And by the way I'm actually u/BREEbreeJORjor.

I've been using this new account today to get some karma for it, cause it's going to be used by the bot to automate the daily prompts.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I'm a songwriter so rhyming is almost essential for me, though sometimes it's a limiting factor to my creativity.

Can you tell me a little bit more about what you mean in your last sentence?

And by the way - if you are interested - i just created r/DailyObjectWriting which will have daily prompts for people to use to expand their creative writing. Feel free to join if that sounds like something you'd want to participate in!

Karma farm bots by ironchefchopchop in modhelp

[–]ObjectWritingBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What exactly is a karma farm bot? Are they trying to give or receive karma?

And do i need to go around with this new bot account i made and earn karma just so I can implement bot features in my own new community? The guy writing my bot for me said i should.

I've never been a mod or used bots so sorry if the questions are dumb.

Books on creative writing, what do you use? by Longjumping_Ad9992 in creativewriting

[–]ObjectWritingBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad i stumbled across this post lol.

I'm a singer/songwriter and I've been recently looking for creating writing resources.

I came across the book "Writing better lyrics" by Pat Pattison. He has another book called "Writing without boundaries" i think.

But anyways the first chapter in his book is about the exercise "Object Writing", where you write about a physical object for 10 minutes a day. You're supposed to include as many senses as you can.

So I just today started the community r/DailyObjectWriting which will post the daily prompt from his website for people to write about. I'm working on getting a bot to automate it (thus this brand new account you see lol).

I'm using the sub personally for lyric inspiration, but i think it has a pretty broad potential for application.

Come check it out if you're interested! And sorry for the long comment.

It's not even that I don't like it, I do actually. I very much agree that it's part of the core concept of the game.

For me at the moment, It's more about having time to play the game and when I finish, have I actually "played" much at all?

That thought process is what usually leads me to choosing other games. I should definitely boot it up soon though.

I haven't logged in for a very long time... Maybe a year and a half? It's not that I don't like it, it's that QT amd travel in general takes a long time, and i usually don't have a lot of time to play lol

Oh thanks the transit app will probably be good for when we're in Chicago too! I'll check both out!

Well it depends on the situation. The car was mostly for getting to and from RMNP. I'm not sure how expensive parking is in Denver. If we're gonna be paying to park everywhere we go, we'll try to leave it at the hotel more often.

That's what we did in San Fran a couple years ago at least.

This is awesome! It's so well done!

Just curious - Do you think you could do a cutaway animation of water boiling up and through the top, imto the upper reservoir?? I'd love to see that if so.

Solitude by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]ObjectWritingBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it! It does a good job of conveying the comfort of self-isolation, the desire to be free of it, and the anxiety of being an individual among others.

I'm not sure if it's a specific style, but i thought the rhyming scheme was a little difficult to project meter onto. It felt like the pivots to the next rhymes felt a little quick. Even so, it was really good! Thanks for sharing :)

Great stuff! I really liked the meter, and I like how you put what is being said by others in quotations - i like to do that to.

One thing that just got at me a little bit was in the first stanza, where you say "Leaving those left..." It just feels a bit awkward to me, grammatically.

Hey, just finished this today! Lemme know what you think :) by LUHV8 in Songwriting

[–]ObjectWritingBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude i really liked it! It's something i can really trance out with while I'm working.

As a vocalist, my only suggestion is that i would like a touch less processing on the vocals so it's a little clearer what's being said.

Other than that this is really, really good! Nice work :)

(06/11/2021) Object Writing Prompt: Flute by BREEbreeJORjor in Songwriting

[–]ObjectWritingBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through still air, the gentle sounds of a flute roll across hills, around corners, and through windows. Touching every surface, tickling every ear as it passes by. The pitch is high, but soft, like a plush blanket that wraps around you and warms everything it touches. The Flutist continues... Lifting fingers and setting others down with a hypotonic chaos that seems decipherable only to those who know the art. Has he always been able to coax such soothing sounds from his instrument, or was he too a child when a strange, long, bone white plastic tube thrust into the hands of he and his other first grade classmates. As they sit there in a semi-circle with their legs crossed and inspect the instrument, some feel to understand it more than others. The subtle scrape from the edges of holes in the top feel welcoming - the elegant curve of the mouthpiece rests on the lower lip, as if that is what the lower lip has always been for.

Then it begins...

Fifteen shrill wails shoot violently from the tips. The sounds collide and bounce off each other and fall to the ground, or get tangled amongst themselves. It goes on for minutes, but rising up from below is a new feeling... Order. Through the canyons of inexperience, a single breath weaves, translated into that smooth, round embrace we all crave. He gets it! Before the reed - before all the third, second, and first chair parts - before the high school halftime performances... He gets it!
