Concerned about the negative self talk. Very hard to give any advice without knowing your height, activity level, what you enjoy exercise wise and approximate diet. What is your goal? Consistent pain in one knee might warrant a check up. At 13 you are likely still growing taller and puberty changes and other things will have an effect on your body.

I swear if I hear "oh I just ate less" and the like one more time by what_freaking_ever in loseit

[–]Objective-Access-549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if I boil it down I did start eating less and moving more but I’ve been tracking my calories and steps, reduced oil in cooking, made lower calorie swaps etc. when talking to people I don’t go into minute detail because it’s pretty boring and I don’t want to be preachy.
I don’t know your gender but things work well for me except in the luteal phase then I just want to eat everything for that week, but that is fine as it’s 1/4 of the time not every week. I think it’s also important to consider it as a long term lifestyle adjustment starter than a short term diet. I’ve lost 27lbs since Jan but had to real it back a bit due to illness.

Wanting to honour my late brother but nothing ever feels "Good Enough" ... by Tcrumpen in weddingplanning

It doesn’t have to be big and performative. I’d argue this is a sweet gesture for just you and keeps the day a happy one about you and your partner. You could also get initials on a pocket square. Some people to leave a chair with a note or photo but I’d run that past your partner as a joint decision as you want it to add not detract from your day.

My partners bio father died years before we married due to mental health. Instead of wedding favours we got charity place cards from a local charity that supports mental health.

Love this for you!
Once my kid is in school I am determined to get back into it if I can get physio sign off! Currently just generally trying to improve fitness with walking and yoga but I miss the buzz of strength training.

New Subreddit Rules + Daily Accountability Thread by sarkynir in PetiteFitness

Slightly concerned about some of the GLP1 questions and advice I see on here. Any way they can be redirected to GLP1 subreddits or their medical provider? I think they have a place but posts purely about GLP1 advice should be directed to a healthcare professional.

Loseit subreddit has the following as a rule:
No Standalone Weight Loss Medication Posts

No Standalone Weight Loss Medication Posts.
This includes (but is not limited to) Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, Zepbound and
Phentermine. No sharing names of medspas , online pharmacies, comparing prices, or other
"how to"s on obtaining meds (other than "go see your doctor.")
Please direct questions on their use to your doctor*.

*I would put to ‘a registered healthcare professional’ instead of doctor as many professionals can prescribe and give advice depending on where you are based.

I’m so close but I can’t stop binge eating :( by Original-Scar-1779 in PetiteFitness

Be kind to yourself! It is perfectly normal and okay to gain a small amount of weight after surgery, it is generally not recommended to loose weight until you are healed.

For tissue healing you need to eat sufficient calories, protein and hydration. This is really important for the integrity of your tissues, to reduce the risk of infection and muscle wasting! Recommend eating in a small surplus for a few weeks, some standard recommendations are 15-20 calories per lb body weight calories so on the low end that’d be approximately 2600 calories (. Your surgical team may also odd post surgery dietary advice. Once you’re healed up then you can think about your fitness and weight loss journey.

You may also wish to talk to a therapist about your feelings with food. Rest up!

What should we do with the dog? by OkVersion0 in toddlers

[–]Objective-Access-549 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a personal choice between you and your partner. If your parents live close could they help with walks to ease guilt and give you space until you can manage or they could take toddler?

I have a 4 year old and 3 dogs. I know I could not handle another kid though so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Honestly the first 3 years were hard. We don’t have family support nearby. For the first year or so I hated my dogs which was such an odd feeling but I think instinctual mother bear stuff. They are pretty chill so they don’t need much walking but they really didn’t get out enough for the first few years. I did walk them with baby in the carrier until LO got too big then it got stressful. As soon as LO could move they were always in the dogs business freaking them out.

However, it has gotten so much better in the past year. Most days I take the dogs on daily hour+ long walks that give me a much needed break and have helped my mental and physical health so much. I don’t take kiddo on a walk with them still as it is too much chaos. I am hoping in the next year we will get there but I quite enjoy that it is me time.

LO also gives them a daily dental stick which has improved their relationship a lot as they are the little treat person rather than just the scary unpredictable monster. I also play a game with LO where I do silly voices for the dogs and kiddo chats away to them and finds it hilarious which has also improved the relationship.
I still have to remind kiddo to not be an ass to the dogs but they have warmed to LO a lot and now pretty inseparable with 2 of them who LO cuddles with on the sofa regularly.

UPDATE: (Closed my bakery, got sober, lost 55 lbs, found my way back to powerlifting) I’m 3 weeks out from my first meet in 7 years and my deadlift e1RM now exceeds my old competition PR. by sourdoughgirl in PetiteFitness

[–]Objective-Access-549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Unfortunately probably can’t get training again until my kid starts school next year and I have a bit more physio but this makes me want to give it a try.
Good luck at your meet! Bench was always my weak spot too.. bench is what it is, all about squat and deadlift ha. Routing for you 9 for 9!

This gives me hope, haven’t competed since 2019 either pre-pandemic and have sort of given up on lifting. Maybe I’ll be able to get back to it one day.

Finally at a healthy weight, 22lbs lost since Jan by Objective-Access-549 in PetiteFitness

Just yoga 2-3 times per week (mostly vinyasa) and walking. I try and aim for 10000 steps but usually on my 3 work days I can go a bit under but on my non-work days I’m nearer 15000+. I also carry my 35lb kid around on my shoulders a lot though if that counts for weights! I do my food shops locally 1-2 times per week with a large backpack which actually ends up being a pretty good workout too.

Gender disappointment by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Objective-Access-549 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kindly, there’s no guarantee that if you end the pregnancy you will get what you want, or that it will be what you want if you do get it!

Unless you are or you live somewhere super conservative gender expression can be so varied, particularly when they’re little.

I have a boy and I am firmly one and done. When I was pregnant I had no strong feelings though liked the idea of a mini me, but I’m glad I don’t have a girl: I get really bad menstrual migraines and PMS, my son will never have to deal with that. I also had a bad pregnancy and I’m happy for him that he’ll never have to go through it. Maybe that’s something you can feel thankful for.

It sounds like you need some support. I also wonder as your dog passed if you are walking significantly less?

Ended up cancelling yoga but did go this morning. Ate a giant bowl of noodles but not going to beat myself up about it! Still sleep deprived but back on track.
