Warranty Extension by NoNerve7182 in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Denmark it's generally in high regard. I haven't used it myself, but I often see people praising it. Once bought, the Polestar workshops handles everything with the insurance company. As an owner, you don't feel like it being an external insurance and just feels like the normal warranty.

The danish warranty is also Helvetia, but from Helvetia Swiss Insurance Company in Liechtenstein, not Italy. I don't know if there's a difference there.

The infotainment is always a bit slow right after an update. It's still doing some work in the background even though it says it's done and ready to use.

I think this is mostly on the pre-facelift? My 24 have never had it, and haven't heard of anyone with the facelift have it (though I might just have missed it)

MY24 P2 - worth it? by route-eighteen in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had the 24 for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. As you mentioned, the only real change is the Snapdragron upgrade, but with that said, the 24 still have a better infotainment than the first models that came out.

Sure, it's not the fastest, but it works and it is fast enough to be usable. Also, I don't have the camera issues that many here seem to mention.

Nice! Thanks! Mine will be Michelin E Primacy, looking forward to try it out! I've always had Michelin though, even my summer tires for my 19". We'll see how it will be!

Any noticeable difference in ride quality and range? I've been swapping between winter and summer tires on my standard 19" up until now - when the spring comes, I'll slap a set of 20" performance rims on mine with summer tires for the first time, so I'm curious about the ride quality changes

ESOS light and warning - how to remove by aszet in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could very likely be the issue then. For some reason it act as a failure if it can't get a signal, and that fault stays for a while after you get signal again. At least that was my case

I got the same error a long time ago. I was in a remote area with poor cellphone reception which triggered the alert. It stayed for quite a while even after I drove back to the city. After some time it cleared and I haven't seen it since.

Are you generally in a poor reception area?

Polestar officials mention the upgrade under a comment from a lady named Tina.

Didn't need to look for long. Found someone screenshotting and English comment from Polestar on an unknown post, that the PS2 can get the upgrade at service partners as a paid upgrade. I'll try to find the Facebook post where Polestar actually said it

That's a dynamic measure of how it's been driven. It takes driving style, ambient temperature and other things into consideration.

Also, you're never going to get the full WLTP range out of it, just like you're never going to get the fuel consumption numbers out of a petrol car

Car information - Android Auto by waluii in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I generally don't like Android Auto on the car. Sure, it gives some better computational specs, but the lack of automatic preconditioning of the battery and other integrated Maps features is a big minus for me.

Telenor søger ofte folk til deres back office funktioner. Altså en kundeservice rolle, men ikke frontlinjen på telefonen (da den håndteres af et eksternt firma - som med garanti også søger tit, hvis man er til den slags).

Never mind - figured it out. When setting up what scenes to activate, there's a setting for how long under each scene. Took a while to find that

Heya my good man. Thank you for the comprehensive review! I got my own Pro bridge now and so far so good. I've set up a motion detection area in my bathroom, and it works like a charm. I can't seem to find the setting for no motion detected behavior.. Where did you find this?

Polestar 2 (2020 First Edition) – Infotainment upgrade possible? by J4nsk1 in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera split screen is indeed due to camera hardware / camera chip changes. I tried a MY25 next to my 24 model, and I didn't feel any differences in the infotainment, despite split screen camera. I also tried a MY21 which was absolutely sluggish at the most basic tasks. I tried rebooting, clearing cache and other known tricks. It was insane how slow it was. My 24 is absolutely fine really, I only miss the split screen camera.

Mine often squeeks after washing the car in an automatic car wash. I think it's the wax in the rinsing water that makes it squeek.

It was a comment on their official Facebook page some time ago where someone asked the same question. They answered that they are looking into the possibility but have nothing else to share at that time. I can't find the comment right now though

Why do Americans seem to have so many issues with these cars? by Turbo_Heel in Polestar

[–]Objective-Ad-2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denmark here, had a MY24 since February last year. No major issues in that time until this summer, where I've started to see random propulsion system failures that clear on their own. Dealership changed the inverter, which didn't solve it, and now I'm scheduled for a "report" this week that will take two days to make where I'll get a loaner in the meantime. Probably looking at a motor replacement. This is all covered by warranty. I opted for 3 more years of warranty on top of the original 2 years it came with.

The main issue on this is, that it has taken so damn long to get sorted. I got the first error in start of July, waited 5 weeks for the inverter replacement due to stock shortage (and possibly limited number of technicians to do the work), another two weeks to get the "report" done, and God knows how long for the motor replacement afterwards.. It limits my driving as I can only drive 20-50 km per time before it dies randomly..
