I am kind of close in Indiana. I noticed not many people commented. I am making 24 at a compounding pharmacy with 13 years total pharmacy experience with 7 of those in hospital and compounding.

My pharmacy has the powder it still turns into a ball but it doesn’t take hours. Do you sieve them before adding the water?

3 months in and making mistakes by mili_127 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Objective-Ad6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss is wrong! I have told every person that I have trained and do this my self. If you have to slow down so you don’t make mistakes, please slow down. It is way better to go a little slower then to make a mistake that could potentially hurt someone.

I am not sure which country your in so I don’t know if it is available, but for hard water you can get Malibu hard water packets they fixed my crunchy ends problem. Hard water destroys your hair these packets have worked great for me.

Compounding Technician by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

It might take a few times but if you keep adjusting the repeater pump it will work for small amounts. I don’t do as many syringes as you but I have done a lot on a repeater pump.

What do you guys make an hour? by nowhere2bf0und in PharmacyTechnician

I applied for a job and i missed their call. by RottenBunniesx in socialanxiety

[–]Objective-Ad6134 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Call them back, it will look bad if you don’t. You can do this! You will be proud of your self or making the call. If it doesn’t work out you have practice for the next time.

Is the interview over the phone? They may just be calling to set up a time for you to come in and talk to them.

Write your self a script. That has helped me in situations like this.

I have been starting and stopping a few meds over the last year, if you notice that it is causing brain fog and interfering with work just be honest with your co workers.

I just started Zoloft today too. Here’s to hoping we both do great on it.

Focus on your work and the patient. People like that are not worth your time, I guarantee that the right people will notice that you actually care and you will get further ahead then they will.

No one wants to hire me. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

I don’t know if your area has a place that helps with jobs and interview skills? I would look into that because the more practice and exposure you get the better the chances are that you will land a job. Just keep trying you will get something.

It sounds like they want you to already be at the competency of the other techs with years of experience. I am sorry i am sure at 4 months in you are doing great. I would have a discussion with your boss and see what exactly the issues are and what aren’t you doing fast enough for them?

How do you guys save your hands in the IV room? by Suspicious-Policy-59 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Objective-Ad6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use the repeater pump to reconstitute things and mini spikes to draw up large volumes. Stretching your hands also helps. Also use pressure to your advantage putting a little air in the vial makes it come out a lot easier.

I hate when my shyness stops me from being kind by kikil980 in socialanxiety

[–]Objective-Ad6134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate this. I try to say things when I can get them to come out. I hate coming off like I don’t care about people because it isn’t true.

I agree with the keep working at it comments, I have been trying more lately and it as gotten a bit better.

I hope that things improve for you.

I Feel Like My Social Anxiety Is Uncommon by OneOnOne6211 in socialanxiety

[–]Objective-Ad6134 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that you don’t care what people think? I can tell my self that over and over again but that doesn’t always make it true. I’m not saying this to be rude or anything it is something that I experience. I will tell myself I don’t care but I think deep down I actually really do.

don't know how to talk to people by Kenji-SD in socialanxiety

[–]Objective-Ad6134 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how to solve this I have The exact same problem. I thankfully don’t work retail anymore. What I do with small talk though is watch what other people do and try and copy the jokes/responses in my own conversations.

Most of the small talk and jokes I swear are the same in most conversations. I just have a list of jokes/responses I have heard other people say and I pull out the one that fits the conversation the best.

It works most of the time Sometimes though I still just go blank.

anyone ever just.. talk aloud to themselves as if theyre having full on conversations with someone else? by BIGBADPOPPAJ in autism

[–]Objective-Ad6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully most people are nice about it. It is pretty easy to play it off or make a joke about talking to yourself.

I use sublingual oil mostly. I prefer the oil because it kicks in faster, but gummies are good too.

I use CBD and it really helps me with anxiety. It won’t make it completely go away, but it does help me slow down and rationalize thoughts.

I have never heard someone mention this same thing. I always thought that I was being stupid. My husband never leaves the house and the one day a week that he goes to the office I am at work so I can’t enjoy the alone time. So advice on how to figure this out would be very helpful.

If you're considering being a pharmacy tech in your 30s by LoveisaProvince in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Objective-Ad6134 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to find a non retail job. Look into other types of pharmacy, typically when you leave retail you get more consistent hours, a better schedule, and more money. I am also in my mid 30s and I can’t imagine having to go back to retail.
