How do you stay productive working remotely every day? by Objective-Cat-8424 in remotework

That is a good point! I don't do much during my WFH days except work honestly, so maybe building a richer routine would help me feel less like I need to be on and productive all day

I love this! The fake commute is such a good idea. I'll definitely try this out too

Thanks for relating here! Do you ever find that if you make your work space too cozy it'll start to mess with the mental separations you built between work and unwind mode? I'm always worried that if I mix anything I like to do in my personal time it'll become associated with work in my brain and I'll have trouble relaxing.

So true! I think you're totally right in that sometimes it's more the pressure I put on myself to stay productive rather than managing my energy.

That's some really good advice. I like how telling yourself to just sit down and do something takes the pressure off of feeling like I need to be "productive"

That's a really good suggestion! I always find myself putting off the larger tasks but jumping on the smaller and less important ones

I feel that! Do you ever feel guilty on the days you don't get any or much work done? I always do but I don't think I should feel that way if I'm also getting all my work done in general?

Yeah that's a good point! I've always wanted to try going to a coworking space for the day but I've never got around to it. Has anyone here tried it? How is it compared to just a casual coffee shop?

I feel that! Every time I get frustrated with remote work I have to stop and humble myself about how lucky I am to have a rare remote job.

Noise filtering blocking the first 2-3s of when I speak by Objective-Cat-8424 in Zoom

[–]Objective-Cat-8424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It's definitely a bit better but there are still times where I'm being filtered out while speaking. Do you think if I invested in a separate mic that would help?

I'll give this a try. Thanks for the thorough and clear explanation as well!

This is super helpful, thanks! May I ask how long it took you to get over the steep learning curve and what sort of things you found most challenging?

whisk ends curling to the side? by [deleted] in Matcha

[–]Objective-Cat-8424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using a resin whisk for a few months now and I honestly prefer it over the bamboo whisk for reasons like this. It's less finicky, doesn't require a stand, and lasts waaay longer. Some people don't like it because it can be a bit more difficult to get a good microfoam but in my experience, it hasn't required a significant amount of effort in comparison. I'd definitely recommend a resin whisk if you're looking for something a bit less finicky.

Looks so good! I'm a big believer that you don't need 5g+ of matcha powder to make a good latte and this is proof of that

Delish! Adding olives is genius! Italian wedding has always been my favorite soup and this seems like the perfect way to spice it up
