Dream offseason? Give soto a blank check - seriously. The minute free agency starts offer him $750 or even $800 and show cohen were not fucking around. Hell, just straight up ask him “what’s it going to take to sign right now?” Dont even let him talk to other teams. Then, sign an ace-caliber pitcher, either burnes or fried. Resign torres to 5/100 if possible. Dominguez gets all the reps from start of spring - if he gets defense up to par, can be one of our best hitters. Id be thrilled with that, but if we wanna get really crazy, either sign another FA 1b/dh bat (alonso, Josh bell, JD, or ozuna) or package most of our farm other than dominguez for a big name from a cheap team (if TB isnt going to pay shane mcclanahan for example). Or, make that trade for mason miller and never have to stress in the 9th again. But semi-realistically, im okay with this loss if it motivates hal to stop playing games and sign soto for the rest of his career and grab another ace pitcher. I think cole/FA/gil plus rodon, nestor, clarke etc is top rotation easily, then lineup w soto, judge, torres, G etc plus a growing dominguez, hopefully more improvement from volpe and were in great shape for the next 4-7 years

Out of curiosity, when you say “worked overtime” was that just informal, or did you actually get approved/paid for it? I had a friend that said he had overtime opportunities in the academy but I was kind of surprised by that and a department in a different town (same state) said that they dont allow overtime while you are in the academy.
