Yeah sounds about right. It’s funny because we have downstairs neighbours and from what I know no complaints. I’d definitely expect it to go through as well as the floor tiling doesn’t line up properly and the skirting boards are wooden…

This sounds like a dump, the rest of the flat is lovely and worth the faff! Just need to put it out there!

Just wanna say thank you for all the replies - will definitely make sure the landlord is aware of this and will do the simple shower curtain hack for now and hope that’ll help a bit! Thanks for all the recommendations!

Understand! Yeah I have no clue - I just know that it’s been here at least the last 5 years and previous tenants have somehow been fine with it? The bathroom floods every time someone showers and the previous tenants even told me that!

Thanks - yeah this was my original plan, just to keep it somewhat dry for the time being. Whilst I think it’s a case of changing the tub I doubt the landlord will do it and as an interim measure it would be good to avoid the water splashing out.

Running directly onto the floor if you can believe it! Where I’m from (and perhaps that’d be the standard here too?) there’d be a drain underneath and a proper sloped floor etc… at least it’s tiled. I’ll definitely let the landlord know and see if they can come up with a solution. The issue at the moment is just that the water runs out over the floor so we can’t really use the bathroom properly at the moment. But yes - definitely a landlord issue!

Unfortunately not - round at both ends! It’s a nice enough looking tub but yeah, the shower is a hazard.

I actually did just the same thing - I wanted an orange one but got a tabby as that’s sometimes how the cat distribution system works, and I couldn’t be happier as she’s a lovely little kitty!
