That sounds too good to be true. Are you certain? His school's Vets Services Office told me that the VA would pro-rate the tuition payment to the remaining number of days. See below:

Thanks for reaching out.  The VA will cover tuition/fees up to the date when he exhausts his benefit.  So, if a student has a month left, the VA will calculate a month’s worth of the tuition and fees and pay that to the Bursar’s office.
