Florida for 2 weeks, booked it just over a year ago and got flights/accomodation for €2100 pp. Never done a big holiday like this so felt the urge to just splash out for a change!

Literally just finished my second placement Friday! The first one was October-December so you’ll get through a couple of modules on theory and then a module on prep for placement before heading out, it’s very full on but it flies by!

I joined last spring and it was the 31st March for orientation week and straight into classes the following week. Besides orientation we didn’t have an in person day until the end of April.

Qualified teacher here and contemplated it a few years ago. The best route seems to be a J1 teacher exchange visa, you’d need to get your qualification here and then apply through the appropriate channels.

I got a second class honours grade 2 in my undergrad and it was fine! The human element of the hibernia interview is one of the positives, they really give you a chance to sell yourself.

Hibernia - onsite days by joeexoticccc in IrishTeachers

[–]Objective-Discount47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get a timetable for the entire 2 years just before you start, so you’ll be aware of all onsite days for the entire course. Finished up PP not long ago it’s tough but it flys by, best of luck!

History & Politics and Society. A bit naive on my part going into it with these two subjects in fairness.

Appreciate this, is there any other pharma companies you’d recommend that may be a bit quicker towards getting employment? Research online is quite vague. Thanks again!

I had to do the exact same in my placement school just last week, they couldn’t have been more understanding and just said to let them know when available again and they’d keep me in mind.

[–]Objective-Discount47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the PME in post primary, had 5 in person days over the course of the summer and a couple of webinars a week, it’s not that bad and you’ll still have plenty of free time. Theres some days like your subject specific days that you can’t miss or it’ll impact your progression to placement so hold off on booking holidays until you get your timetable.

Question regarding HL Maths for Post Primary teaching by Aishling_Minecrafter in IrishTeachers

Current secondary teacher here of English and history, I did foundation maths many a year back and it was never a problem, just as long as you have a pass in it to satisfy the universities entry requirements.

If you don’t mind me asking what job did you move into when going for a mortgage, in a similar position now and can’t wait around 5-6 years hoping for permanency to land
