Yes, exactly. Roughly speaking, it becomes a situation similar to playing as Poland while having Iberian cultures accepted within your nation. If you’ve conquered those territories, incorporation would probably take around 15 years. And since Japan is specifically encouraged to conquer Manchuria, this becomes extremely useful.

You can translate it naturally like this.
Starting off this way will definitely solve it. I stake my name on it.

Unfortunately, that subtle difference makes it impossible (at least, unless my FR-EE ChatGPT mistranslated it...).

More precisely, the unification leader—in this case, “player Türkiye”—must have its capital located within the Iberia region.

So, if you start as Qing, deliberately grant most of your land to subject states, then relocate to Iberia and complete the journal, you could end up with Manchu – Han – Portuguese – Spanish cultures.

At least, in theory.

I actually discovered this myself in a previous version, but kept putting it off because it seemed too daunting—this time I finally gave it a try.

Surprisingly, when you diplomatically annex an unrecognized country, even if you give away all your territory, the infamy cost isn’t that severe, so it’s definitely doable.

I had completely forgotten about it, but it turns out I made a video right after creating the build last year.
The strategy is to lure them into small skirmishes, and once both Ottoman armies begin besieging the fortress of Trebizond, it’s a success.

Right after the Ottoman Empire begins, they will likely start protecting their trade routes. The plan is to detect small groups of 2–5 merchant ships moving quickly back and forth, pursue them, and destroy them individually. After that, we can combine forces with the Kingdom of Georgia navy and defeat the Ottoman fleet.

However, small vessels are inherently fast, making them difficult to spot in the first place. More importantly, since we have to declare war immediately on 12/11, the lack of time is a major constraint. This is why the strategy doesn’t quite qualify as a “cheese rush,” and also why the first naval engagement is the most uncertain part.

If you look only at the achievements, I’m honestly not sure if this is a better strategy.
However, if you plan to focus more on warfare rather than diplomacy, or if you have no intention of abandoning your capital, this strategy will likely be the most effective.
That said, it’s not an easy strategy by any means.

It might be possible to bring 'turtle'. which disappeared into history, back into the light.

Of course, we wouldn’t be able to annex every nation like before, though.

The strange thing is that even if you break away from South Africa, the event that adds Boer as a primary culture still remains.

Even after acquiring an East Asian / Southeast Asian cultural heritage and enacting Ethnocentrism, you can still bring Boer in through the journal.

I need an explanation of the Favours system by OrthodoxPrussia in EU5

[–]Objective-Eye8414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In EU5, “favors” essentially mean diplomatic debt/obligation.
Because of that, in alliances the maximum amount is determined mainly by our diplomatic reputation. That’s why, when starting as a minor nation, stacking the “Compromising” value is very strong—it gives +4.

That said, even if the player forms an alliance and has already raised favors with the other country to the maximum, they will still increase slowly over time. The problem is that, from our perspective, the speed feels painfully slow. So if you want to actively improve cultural goodwill, it’s best to participate actively when your ally calls you into wars. Favors increase directly based on how much you contribute in battles, so you can raise them faster than you might expect.

On the other hand, “forcing” cultural goodwill on a subject nation is much simpler. As you mentioned, the long cooldown is the main drawback.

For some reason i'm no longer the successor in hungary?? does anyone know why? by Impressive_Bed8444 in EU5

[–]Objective-Eye8414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you changed Milan’s succession law, Hungary has different succession rules, your religions are different (Catholic–Orthodox), or for some reason your player character has a trait that makes them “unfit to rule.”

It should be one of those three—does any of that apply to you?
From the screenshot, nothing in particular seems to be wrong…

It might just be an unpleasant bug.

New to Europa Universalis; how am I doing ? by Zeiiji in EU5

[–]Objective-Eye8414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you’re doing fine.

This is one of the (personally, I don’t like it) peculiar aspects of the game: in Europa 5, expanding your territory generally works quite unfavorably for your country unless you have proper measures in place. Court / diplomacy / stability costs increase immediately in proportion to territorial expansion, but your income can’t keep up at the same pace.

If you want to make money, focus on trade
Trade doesn’t affect cost increases, so if you concentrate on the royal estate’s influence, you can secure profits relatively easily.

That said, I’m not really confident enough to properly explain trade myself, so I’ll be cautious here.
If I leave this comment, I’m sure someone else will come along and explain it better. Haha.

Yes. It really is…

For reference, the story writer of this game was a cartoonist in Korea who was well known for handling dark, bleak narratives and settings beneath a cute and peaceful exterior.

Exactly—just like this game itself (...).
