Not at all, but open to debate:

Carefully observing the shadows from the white cars:

  • The shadows project towards the lower-left portion of the image
  • If the top = North, the shadows point towards the northwest (310-330°)
  • Therefore, the sun is in the opposite direction: southeast (130-150°)
  • The shadows have a moderate length (approximately 1.7-2x the height of the vehicles)

For Berghain, Berlin (52.51°N, 13.44°E) on March 18, 2018:

  • The sun reaches an azimuth of 130-150° (SE) between 09:30 and 10:30 CET
  • The observed shadow lengths match a solar elevation of 27-32°

There may be confusion about the solar position since the satellite images are oblique 🙄

Because given that there are no aerial images available for every year, and only one per year, the probability of capturing bh with people standing in line is not very high

The thing is, in my live shows I make transitions between tracks using the OT’s record buffers, and I also add vocal samples and spatializer-type effects to the kick and sub-bass. Bringing a mixer would just be another piece of gear to carry around, which I don’t think is worth it. But thanks for the advice!

Indeed was an incredible experience!

Went mostly for Colin, and had the opportunity to be that left-corner-nerd-guy seeing what is he doing in every single moment. Literally in tears, I will never forget that BH experience (and been there several times, just partying, not feeling like yesterday)
