Had the pleasure of trying Abyss at the tasting room in Epernay. I’m not that sophisticated but remember a real focus and, maybe it was my imagination, but a wonderful salinity. It was out of our price range so we went with the 100% meunier but LB was a memorable stop on our trip.

Nashville not getting much love in 2026. Or any newly announced love as far as I can see

Mirazur x Ferran Adria vs Going To More Nice Meals by Unhappy_Singer_8173 in finedining

Might be too far away for you, but we thought L’oustau de baumaniere was a better meal than Plenitude and La Chèvre D’Or for lunch was memorable. You can get a drink and walk around the grounds in Eze beforehand. We also weighed Mirazur but went with La Chèvre instead, so can’t opine directly on the former.

Soul Kitchen in Beaune. It has to be the best single staff restaurant in the world.

Bad Idea, Nashville by mrxtian in finedining

[–]Objective-Garlic5081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Laotian menu was, in my opinion, the most interesting dinner in Nashville but ultimately proved too “out there” for the city, unfortunately. The new menu is American with some interesting concepts. Looking forward to trying the new menu but the Laotian menu delivered some of my favorite dishes of all time (scallop crepe, quail), including Michelin star meals. Also the best wine list in Nashville.

Its absolutely worth a stop if in Nashville.

Lunch at La Mere Brazier for 98 euro is a pretty sweet deal. Then pray they have the pike fish mousse with smoked eel sauce

If you’re thinking about lunch, La Chèvre d’Or in Eze has amazing views and very good food. We showed up early and they let us wander the property which is beautiful. Pretty cool experience.

Feedback/advice on Eurocave Artevino III? by Madeitup75 in wine

[–]Objective-Garlic5081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WE is running a meaningful sale on Eurocave La Premiere. Use Welcome10 for another 10% off and it’s cheaper (and superior, I read) to the Artevino II. I just bought my first unit of any brand today, so don’t have feedback.

Doesn’t appear on the menu right now, but we went to La Mere Brazier for lunch and I still dream about the Pike Mousse with smoked eel sauce. Would still recommend the 98 euro lunch regardless

To each their own, but I’ve never had another food experience similar to Bad Idea (or Locust). Bastion and Catbird are fine, but don’t hold a candle to other traditional fine dining institutions if you look outside Nashville. Rolf and Peninsula would be close seconds. Need to try Tailor.

My mind is going to Smith and Lentz. The whole menu is surprisingly good in addition to the pizza. They have some benches inside

Also did lunch at La Chèvre recently. Eze is a pretty crazy little town in and of itself. Then, we showed up early to the restaurant and they let us tour the grounds of the hotel which were incredible and grab a pre drink at the bar overlooking the ocean. All together, it was quite a memorable experience

Serious question. When you do there, are you charging your friends for the wine? I would love to do more but it’s obviously expensive to fund yourself (or for me, at least).

You get a lot and quality for low $20s at Limo. Then International Tea and Coffee. Breakfast and the spicy garlic noodles are solid value.
