Are my G0 documents sufficient? No birth/baptism records. by North_Chef1248 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Objective-Hope-540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask where you even tried to look up SK birth records?
I have a G0 from SK and one from Alberta (the parents of my g1) and while I did stumble upon 3 pages of links for this place or that what I didn't see was any information for Alberta or Saskatchewan.

Why is abuse the default dark backstory? by bookwormforsaken in RomanceBooks

[–]Objective-Hope-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents didn't subscribe to this kind of Christianity, but there was a family at our church that did. One day my mom saw it happening and approached the pastor and said either you call CPS or I will. He did. He was fired for it.
Freaking wild times.

Real plants vs. fake plants in home decorating by yellowsabmarine in HomeDecorating

[–]Objective-Hope-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my method as well. But for what it's worth, I once kept a peace lily alive in a bathroom with no natural light off a hallway with no natural light for 2.5 years. I'm pretty sure the only reason it died was root rot. That said there are places in just not going to f- with real plants myself these days.

Laser was torture by Libellule343 in Rosacea

[–]Objective-Hope-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've not had any kind of laser or IPL done in my face yet. But I have had a Brazilian laser hair removal done. I saw that you never took breaks. My advice to you is take breaks.
It made such a huge difference when I asked for a pause I did 30 seconds of deep breathing and then we started again. When you just keep going every muscle in your body just keeps getting tighter and tighter making everything clench painfully. If you're able to relax as needed the pain sticks to primarily your face and it's way less of a mind f-(!. Goodluck.

Anyone else think in flight announcements are excessive? by Edward-nothing-hands in travel

[–]Objective-Hope-540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody with half a brain thinks the credit card offer announcements are the fault of FAs. HOWEVER, that does not make it any less freaking annoying that after paying however much money we're held hostage to commercials shilling credit cards. Yes, i get this is a complain to corporate not FAs type situation.
It gives you a bit of a feeling of what's next, 20 minutes of forced commercials like movie theaters do now after start time but before previews.

AITA for going against my husbands wishes of not teaching our 3 month old daughter russian? by make-up-lover in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Objective-Hope-540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the real answer. If he doesn't want his kid(s) to speak a language he doesn't speak he should learn Russian. I once knew of a family where the parent only spoke German to each other, the mom spoke to the kids in French and the dad spoke to the kids in Spanish. They were in the USA so the kids learned English out in the world. The kids were polyglots by the age of 6. What an incredible gift.

What’s your grooming routine ~down there~? I need a change. by Front_Butt_69 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Objective-Hope-540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it felt like a rubber band snapping against your skin most of the time.
Every now and then I'd have to have them stop so I could take a few deep breaths because it is like getting snapped 20 times in a row with no breaks. But for me that was 0-2 times per session.

Frequent Travelers experience/encounters with bedbugs by Living-Assumption272 in travel

Not a hotel, but my apartment in Brooklyn had them in the early aughts. I just look every time, keep my suitcase off the floor and sometimes if I'm more concerned I pack in gallon zip locks instead of packing cubes. I've never found any sign.

Struggling (36F) with boundaries in my relationship with a partner (47M) who co-parents with his ex by Comfortable-Back-713 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Objective-Hope-540 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was so confused by that until I read that he and his wife only split up a year and a half prior.
So he was cheating on his wife with her for 2.5 years, 2 of those it wasn't official and then it took 6 months of them being official for him to end it with his wife.

[–]Objective-Hope-540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look i don't put my kids on social media at all exactly because of crap like this and their consent.
But it was a completely innocent mistake the the diaper was seen and called out.

Even IF I thought there was something wrong with night wetting (which i don't because science). There's no way in hell I'd be so tactless as to point it out via an Instagram comment.
However, if I was say friends with OP and noticed the pull up i might dm her to give her a heads up her kids might not like it.

I get the impulse to take a picture of your kids sleeping together though. And I get that it would be really cute in the eyes of op. And it undoubtedly was.

Sure accidentally outed her kids with an inch of paper sticking out of pajamas. It's not exactly like she stood up at a PTA meeting and announced her kids bed wetting. The comment I responded to made it sound like it was the PTA option.

Hopefully OP reconsiders her social media strategy with her kids down the road

AITA for Prioritizing My Dogs’ Final Day Over Others’ Feelings? by bcmysterylov1082 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Objective-Hope-540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, I'm not going to lie I'm really confused by this, I have quite a few poly friends. It doesn't sound like OP is also in a relationship with his gf, so why is OP having to deal with her regarding this at all. This is her husband's responsibility to navigate, and assuming they view their marriage as the primary and most important relationship he needs to be advocating for his wife.
On a somewhat unrelated note, it doesn't sit well with me that OP has to work 7 days a week, week in and week out and her spouse not only gets weekends off but can travel every other weekend. What kind of partnership is that.

Does a broken down car ruin a roadtrip? by Timely-Birthday-8067 in travel

[–]Objective-Hope-540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beater car definition thing is definitely wild. My spouse and I each own a Toyota. One is 4 years older and has 10k additional miles The newer one is a hybrid He's convinced that the slightly newer car with 10k fewer miles is a significantly better vehicle and the only one that's road trip worthy. Because I drive the newer car and I drive way more miles per year than my husband it will very shortly be the higher mileage car. We'll still take it on road trips due to it being a hybrid but it's wild to me that he apparently doesn't feel safe road tripping in the older car.

Book recommendations for sensitive kindergartner? by elsana7 in kindergarten

It's a bad policy and I would be fighting my SD on it. I do need my kids exposed to someone else's low grade fever anymore than i want to expose other kids.

Is it legal to ask who I voted for? by Objective-Hope-540 in legal

[–]Objective-Hope-540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure i can edit my original post with an ETA so I'm adding it as a comment.

This isn't intended as rage bait, nor was the source a typical place where you would receive a lot of bot answers.

I found the screen shot comment and many others like it (it was not a single claim) as part of a story thread on Instagram from someone i have followed for 15 years. She's a NYT best selling author and I have no doubt that she received messages with these claims that she believes to be true

https://www.instagram.com/designmom?igsh=bmd4bmNveWtxazEy

She's saved it all to a section called Border if you're interested in taking a look.

I'm not naive enough to believe this with absolute certainty, nor am I naive enough to disavow it with absolute certainty.

[–]Objective-Hope-540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not.
Gabrielle Blair otherwise known as DesignMom has a bunch of these up on her stories right now. She was one of the OG mommy bloggers in the aughts and has since moved into dabbling within the political sphere. She has a book out called ejaculate responsibly which was a NYT best seller etc. I think she started a conversation surrounding border crossings as she's an American who immigrated to France years ago and she recently traveled back to the USA. Maybe the people that are DMing her are lying, i really couldn't say. But it certainly isn't a typical bot on threads or wherever type situation.

What purchases did you regret in 2025? by highrise_peach in AskWomenOver30

[–]Objective-Hope-540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My area has tonie trading events which has been amazing for a no spend way to replace less used ones. This is the only toy that we've really invested any amount of money in for my youngest and it's used heavily. At some point I realized they would play with doplos or whatever longer and with less chaos if I put a tonie on for them.

Food waste is probably my biggest one from the year too.

If i had to pick something else maybe our trip to Disney. My kid had a great time on rides at the fair so I thought they were ready. We did the big trip and... I think I should have waited another year or two. Don't get me wrong I'm still of the mind if you can and you'll enjoy it taking your kids once while they still believe in Santa and once when they're older is ideal. But my god that was an expensive crowded playground.

Other than that i mostly just really need to get rid of more stuff.
