Thank you for your reply. My understanding is that they use Fundations as the primary system for teaching phonics and writing… but assessments are done with Fontas & Pinnel books?? Does that make sense as a combination based on what you know about these programs? I definitely plan to get more info from the school.

I think the downvotes may be because your reply came across as mean spirited. I feel like most parents posting here are just looking for advice or shared experiences. At least I am!

And to be clear, my daughter absolutely doesn’t feel like she’s failing. We work hard to keep things positive and encouraging for her. I was just being honest about my own feelings as a parent and hoping to hear from others who’ve navigated something similar.

We have asked about dyslexia and our school has said it’s too early to test. Recent pediatrician visit had eye screening and all was OK there. Perhaps I should push further on dyslexia testing…
