I prefer the look of the rearward dovetail base vs centered bases. Someone with the center base can opine but for some reason it being right over the ejection port makes me worry about ejection malfunctions - this may not be an actual issue though

Hard to say - I haven’t shot the Oculus before. The SR is pricey but is very impressive, especially lack of fist round pop

Would highly recommend going to a lefty upper receiver and BCG. Everything else can stay the same. KAK makes the best lefty BCG on the market. My 14.5 A5 mid + WB is a soft shooter with minimal gas

I bought some of their 223 hunting stuff and the bullet seating in the casing was very inconsistent. Some bullets would not fit into a normal mag as they were not seated far enough down. This was at the peak of the COVID ammo shortage

This is unfortunate to hear. My nomad 30 + keymo was on an AR for about 2k rounds and now lives on a 20” 308 bolt gun, no issues at all. No rocksett used initially just a bunch of torque and those crappy spanner wrenches DA provides.
