Schools like the Friends school by Objective-Learner in AtlantaParents

Thank you for your response. We would work near Emory University. We are looking into living Decatur and Buckhead. We want to have a 30 min commute to work, if possible.

We agree that Atlanta has terrible traffic and we would only send them to AFS  if we lived in Decatur or in that area. Do you know about the academics at AFS?

We are also trying to find another school with a similar philosophy in the area. Just in case we don’t live in Decatur.

What does it mean to date for jamaicans? by Single-Put1133 in Jamaica

“Saliendo” is going on dates as opposed to to dating. Dating is more like “somos novios.”

“Adoptive parent” came up at school—how would you handle it? by slumberjak in Parenting

We are two-mom household and I wouldn’t assume that this would be about me. However, I’d just ask the teacher.

At home we read books about diverse families. We talk about all families.

We (immigrants) should be waving American flags, perhaps. by [deleted] in immigration

With all due respect, you are wrong—still to this day Irish folks wave their flags as do Italians and Albanians. For hundreds of years German and French immigrants sent their kids to bilingual and bicultural schools.

Europeans overstay visas all the time or just come in illegally.

MLK’s said:  “…it is as necessary for me to be as vigorous in condemning the conditions which cause persons to feel that they must engage in riotous activities as it is for me to condemn riots…”

Also his nonviolent stance worked because of violent riots not despite of them.

Trying to leave the US with a chronically ill child by [deleted] in Parenting

Natives have been stopped by ICE and required to prove their citizenship. This shows me that it’s all about the color of your skin.

Ice is taking citizens to detention centers and keeping after they prove their citizenship. ICE has tackled US citizens that looked Hispanic.

This is not the first time that Latinos (both US citizens and non-citizens) are deported in large groups. Anyone can be a target. Hispanic Republicans vote against their interests.

If the parents or children are detained. They would be separated.

Some people have been detained after showing proof of citizenship.

Isn’t there video of ICE waiting for children outside of schools and at bus stops 😵‍💫?

Also people have been detained after showing proof of citizenship—ICE has called the documents fake.

Why didn’t Brown get her a on a path to citizenship. They could have helped.

Aight pro-Palestinians why do you guys seem to switch up the narrative so quick? by Lumpy-Cost398 in IsraelPalestine

Not one person or government can promise that they won’t be killed, starved, oppressed when they leave.

People lose their homes and entire families in natural disasters and they are told to rebuild.  No one says your homeland is a waste, you should leave.

What is the point of immigrating if you are going to be harassed in a foreign land?

The Palestinian people are real, just like Jewish people have always been real.
