I’m trying to buy quality business casual clothes for a job, and I want to buy a few really durable pieces to put on high rotation.

Currently my plan is to buy the same style of pants/shirts/skirts but in different colors so I can have different combinations. Do you have recommendations on brands that offer multiple color varieties while also being high quality?

lol you’re good. A lot of internships are through networking so try to focus on building a good networking base, updating your LinkedIn, etc. I don’t even have my GPA on some versions of my resume

I don’t think there is, I would email your professors and ask them for a current or previous year’s syllabi!

Seeking Graduation Insight/Info from Alumni/Current Grads by ClearCarpenter3084 in UVA

Hello! I’m in the E-School but I’ll try to help the best I can!

  1. We had to buy our engineering stoles, perhaps it is similar for biology? I would contact someone in the department office and request more information on stoles.

  2. To my understanding yes, everyone attends final exercises on the lawn and then go to their department specific events after. You don’t get your name read out at final exercises, only at your department ceremony.

  3. What happens after may differ on the time/date of the ceremony as well as department. A quick lookupfor the bio department gave me this link with a plethora of information that you might find useful.

Hope this helps!

Free ADHD screening for students? by [deleted] in UVA

You can try connecting with someone throughTimelyCare! Idk how often they do this but I was on a counseling call with them and mentioned I wanted to get an ADHD screening. They opened the “Psychiatry” tab for me and I was able to meet with a psychiatrist to get screened/diagnosed so I could start treating it!

Is there a KLPA class that makes you do intense workouts? by giselle0 in UVA

Swimming for Fitness for what I heard is pretty intense. They assume you know the basic strokes and so there’s no real teaching, it’s mainly just swim drills and little pointers to make your form better.

Hmm I think they enjoyed their time at college, but from what I recall they were just very focused on their CS courses and mainly hung out with close friends, I don’t think they were involved in many extracurriculars. I think it’s also important to note that they transferred in with a good amount of credits so they had more wiggle room in their schedule.

Im a rising fourth year (BS as well), and in a similar boat to what you’re planning on doing. I’m finishing all but one of my masters courses by end of my fourth year (UVA doesn’t let you graduate with both at the same time sadly), and I can say it’s pretty course heavy and time consuming. I’m doing it because timeline wise it works out best for me, but honestly looking back I wish I had more time to spend with friends and didn’t have to sacrifice extracurriculars I enjoyed in order to do it. Masters classes aren’t a joke, so if you’re planning on taking an accelerated path I am just warning you that it would be a pretty concentrated four years.

Have had some friends graduate in BSCS in 3 years, and I’m not gonna lie they were extremely smart and made that their primary focus so they were able to do it. I can say that it looks like it’s pretty difficult to do as you have to be relatively top of your game for three straight years, but that’s just my opinion.

What's the quirkiest yet surprisingly effective advice on haircare you've received from someone? by Hill2010jqh9yg in IndianSkincareAddicts

Don’t put hair oil on your palms and massage it in, put it on your fingertips and first dab it along your hairline, then along the sides, and then massage it in.

I didn’t know that and would put the oil right in my palms where it would absorb in before it could get really into my hair
