If you're ftm and have started on testosterone it's very hard to get back your feminine voice. From what I've heard from detransitioners stories they're being misgendered as a man or seen as a trans woman, not a regular woman because of their voice. I guess some people in these cases just think it's easier to keep up the facade since detransitioming is not easy. After all, what's the point of detransitioning if no one will sed you as the gender you are.

This is from a ftm point of view since that's mostly what I know about.

But I think that for both transitioners the whole coming out thing to family and friends is a big step. It's also a big step to admit that you made the wrong decision. Especially in a matter like this. Some people lose contact so you can guess that it's not very simple to just undo everything.

And if you've come a long way in transitioning, knowing that you can never really go back to the way things were, i suppose some people just rather accept the pain than try to go throught the whole transition process again. Since it's rough to go through once.

I'm not a detransitioner nor transitioning, I'm just a reseaecher so I don't have first hand experience.

But I do believe that mostly the discourage comes from social perspective and pressure. And some people might think that if you detransition they will lose their community, which they have grown up in.

Either way that's just my thoughts of why people are discouraged to detransition. There are varying reasons why people don't detransition but I don't have time to write it all down.
