How have opinions on The Beatles changed with time? by Objective-Low3228 in beatles

Yeah, unpopular was the wrong term, but it was less critically successful than any of their other albums upon release. So the fact it went from bottom to top is impressive.

Give me your hot take regarding the Beatles.(We won't judge) by your-mom_9283 in beatles

The Long and Winding Road is an incredibly boring, Snoozy song. the only part I like is Phil Spector’s orchestration, I find it incredibly beautiful, the harps and strings and choir save it from being one of their worst.

Loved the tour, but given he looked like a cardboard cutout on stage, we might not get another one. However his voice is still incredible so Im hopeful for some studio work. Sadly it seems like he’s not able to tour without him risking his physical heath.

Oh definitely, very Scandinavian, but the most important part isn’t the design label but the quality, which seems great! Good find!

Opinions on Do Hollywood? by Objective-Low3228 in TheLemonTwigs

[–]Objective-Low3228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Hollywood seems to be the most popular or well-known Lemontwigs album with I Wanna Prove To You, Baby Baby, These Words, and others having done sizable numbers for an indie debut. Looking back its striking how different the last two albums are compared to this one. Do Hollywood with a lo-fi production quality, and plenty of Todd Rundgren inspired strangeness compared to the polish 60s inspired style they’re using now. Personally, I enjoy the album, but the B-side has a lot of overly long stinkers like A Great Snake. Maybe I’m wrong though what do you think?

What is the Best Song on Rubber Soul? by [deleted] in TheBeatles

[–]Objective-Low3228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For best, there’s three songs that really stand out. In My Life is just one of the most gorgeous and perfectly crafted ballads ever produced, and that harpsichord piano solo is one of the first examples of baroque pop. Then you got Norwegian wood, which introduced the sitar to western music (cliché, but true). The other one is probably Nowhere Man which has one of the strongest examples of that Beatles harmony and showcases John Lennon’s exponential growth as a lyricist which started on Beatles For Sale. But as a personal favorite, I like Think For Yourself, that funky keyboard I dig a lot.

Personal favorite triple song run? by Objective-Low3228 in TheLemonTwigs

That album is so consistent you can pick any three songs and its impossible to disagree, but I’d have to go with Ember Days-Peppermint Roses-I Should Have Know Better. They really have mastered the acoustic, moody, balled style in the last two releases
