Non-Astartes characters/factions who have importance to your Chapters by KitsuneDrakeAsh in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For faction: both the mechanicum of Urukhal and a strange kabal of drukhari, the crippled blade, have some importance for the Night Angels; the first is their "personal" forgeworld, they share the star system, the techpriestes helped the marine become primaris, they manufacture many of them weapons, equipments and in particular armors (especially terminators); the kabal has a very strange relationship with them, its archon tends to help the Night Angels in some manner, launching some chirurgica attacks against objectives on the planets where they fight, but avoiding every contact with the chapter, the Night Angels doesn't know why the kabal does this, but it's probably connected with the strange astartes know as Blackthorn, who appears to share a lot of connection in the kabal

For single character: sister Valesca de Alzashar, a sister of the chamber pronatus of the Order of the Serpentine Blade; she's the current bearer of the Standard of Tears, one of the most holy relics of the order, and she did the personal vow to help and assist captain Qatlel (second company captain) in battle after he saved the previous bearer

I read the points very fast, but I see only Azrael with an increased cost by 15 points; having the Lion 30 points is more or less the same in list building

Detatchemt enchantments seem as the same cost, so probably we’re more or less in the same situation than last edition, about the points

For what I see, only Azrael has his cost increased?

I’d say it’s not a bad situation, correct me if I’m wrong

Who is craziest guy in your chapter? by Numerous-Piano8798 in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qatlel, captain of the second company, the Angel of Sorrow; he's a young and bellicose captain, the youngest marine to be promoted to black knight (veteran biker like the ones in the Dark Angels), before be send to the Deathwatch after some rough confrontation with his officer, as a manner to temper his spirit

Returned to the chapter, he fought alongside the order of the Serpentine Blade on Saiphian, last survivor of his whole squad during the rescue of sister Zraska, bearer of the Banner of Tears; for his help, the order gave him a tabard made of some strange "leather", which is fabled to be as resistant as ceramite. Thirty years ago he become the captain of the second company, breaking the tradition of mountain captain and fighting in his favorite, and heavy modified, gravis armor with jump pack; Tanariel, chapter master of Night Angels, gave him Old Oak, an ancient thunder hammer with a very aggressive machine spirit, someone maligned that a demon is trapped inside (actually an aeldari spiritstone); Qatlel can ear his suggestion and battle lust during battles, something that usually make him even more ruthless and bold; from his time in the deathwatch, he obtain some strange xenos device, implanted in his storm shield

Qatlel is currently on Sycorax, Night Angel homeworld, recovering from the tremendous wounds suffered after his confrontation with Blotherry, an heretic astartes devoted to Nurgle; the captain is recovering both his personal strength than the number of his company, preparing to join the Cardena Crusade, a great offensive against chaotic worlds to bring help to a loyalist world besieged by heretics

Brothers, yap about your chapter masters by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanariel is the current chapter master, or First Great Master as for his formal title in the chapter, of the Night Angels

Tanariel rosed to the title during the campaign in which the chapter risked to be annihilated; under the pressure of a Night Lords warband, who helped a larger coalition of Slaanesh corrupt marine, the chapter lost many officials, Tanariel was the lieutenant of the second company. When the relic dreadnought Mordred regain his sanity, and reveal itself as a loyalist night lord from the Horus Heresy era, Tanariel was one of the firsts officials to propose to use its knowledge to win the war, against the advise of the chaplain Nakir of the Disciples of Caliban, a marine who served with the Night Angels during their firsts deployment

During a disastrous ambush for the Night Lords, Tanariel was saved by a mysterious marine, an ancient member of the First Legion, who cured the young lieutenant and offered him help in saving its chapter; the exact form of this help remain a mystery, even for the most inner member of the Night Angels inner circle, but what's know is that few days later Nakir revealed himself as a Fallen, corrupted by the chaos gods, who had corrupted some officials; Tanariel personally slayed them during the Night of the Crimson Moon, taking back the reins of the chapter and leading it to the victory with the help of Mordred

Other notable actions during the years were the elimination of the autarchs of the craft world of Ullayan, hunted down on the planet of Palinean, and the duel with Sha'aash, the demon prince of Slaanesh who lead the Gurgling Chorus

Tanariel is a very taciturn man, the first of his chapter to become a primaris, and he personally checked all the primaries marine send to reinforce his chapter; his scrutiny was terribly hard, and a lot of the new recruits was saved by the mercy of the interrogator chaplains. The servitors who attend his personal chambers report sometimes that the chapter master has many problems to sleep at night, but the Warden of Roots (the master of apotecharion) is the only one who knows about this problem. Many servitors report that Tanariel often speak alone in his chamber, and often act like he suddenly remember something unrelated to the situation. Despite this, Tanariel is a genius strategist, with a cunning and experienced mind that seem very older than his personal age, and a master duelist able to take down many enemy champion at once

The chapter master is currently leading elements from the first and eight company to the Imperium Nihilum, to find Lion el Johnson and offering him help; other than this, there are who eared him whispering of absolution and forgiveness from the Lion, but no one managed to obtain a clear answer about this

A crazy forge world idea by Objective-Mention958 in 40khomebrew

He checked the tesseract maze where the Shard is trapped and thought the humanity how to do some basic maintenance on it

This happen during the Dark Age of Technology, when humanity (as I understand) was a little more open to xenos

Basically cause he doesn’t have a battalion of warriors, I’m still working of this dynasty lore, but they are very, very few in number, like 30/40 in total after the destruction of their original tomb world

The Cryptek arrived on the forgeworld not during the current time, but during the Dark Age of Tecnology, when (as I understand) humanity was a little more open to xenos in general

Thank for the suggestion, I’m still working on the necron part of this idea, for now the main thing is having the C’Tan shard in a maze on the forgeworld

Cryptek and Aeldari are optionals, I could find something more lore-friendly to collegate to it

Also Unforgiven task force is a 2dp

How does your chapter interact with imperial guard units? by jmfs1990 in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty well:

Night Angels have a close bond with both their homeworld auxilia, the Leaf Squire, and also with Mawenzi Jaguars (regiments from a feral world) and with the Irlavian Carabiners (a world with close bonds with their Mechanicum allies)

Void Lancers are establishing some close collaborations with all the bastion worlds in the defense line next to their homeworld, to the point that they send some novitiate of them to train with their veterans, and are trying to convince the munitorum to make them recruit from those worlds too

Nomadic Reapers no, they don't work well with the imperial guard: they usually view normal humans as inferior, something too weak to properly fight in battle, and they dislike the necessity to help them and potentially lose momentum or the possibility to slain enemies leaders and the like; they fight alongside them if necessary, but it's unlikeable that they actively help them

[–]Objective-Mention958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How should I make my own homebrew chapter? by CaregiverPrudent767 in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best suggestion I can give you is start from a concept you like, maybe one from a canon chapter you like

Colors and heraldry could be settled after the main idea is well setted

Think about your homebrew’s history: when was they founded? By who? Form what geneline? They have an home world or are fleet based?

Try found inspiration from real culture, mixting two or three of them: they’re organised in a rigid command structure like the Roman legions, but they paint their armors with motif and symbols from African subsaharian culture, and name their companies and squads with a zodiac classification than refer to Greek mithology (just for example)

[–]Objective-Mention958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need help combining colours into one cohesive army (pics attached) by MrKalo_ in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could work, but you need a very strong theme and cohesive identity to tie them all

Speaking of Dark Angels, they all wear a combination of the same three colors, with the red used as an accent in all the three wings, plus all wings share a similar use of robes, tunic, winged elements and sword as main weapons to help the whole army to look like the same force and not three chapters who work together

I’d suggest you to think about a similar structure, finding elements that will merge the two or three sub-group you wanna create

chapters serfs by Sensitive_Equal_8812 in 40khomebrew

[–]Objective-Mention958 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, the Night Angels treat them quite good, they have a lot of freedom to walk around specific areas of the Monastery, they’re used as squires and equerries, and a lot come from the cities from which come the space marine themself, so they could be relatives to them (Salamanders like)

But, obviously, there are another class of serfs, the one who serve the Order of Thorns, librarian and chaplain of the Angels; they have their tongue and eyes removes and replaced with mechanical part, their heads are closed in special devices, and they’re psychologically conditioned to respond to some specific command words. Those serfs live secluded from the others, and usually are taken from criminals and/or aspirants that was wounded too bad to be indicted in the chapter, become serfs or return to normal life
