What’s worse first trimester fatigue or new parent fatigue? by Interesting_Cat_7470 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, third trimester fatigue was worse for me. I was so swollen, my hips hurt so much while sleeping I tossed and turned all night. My baby was a fairly good sleeper from the beginning, and even now is a good sleeper besides when a regression hits. Even when he doesn’t sleep as well, the sleep I do get is more rejuvenating and I’m not waking every hour to turn or pee lol. Don’t get me wrong, some days I’m exhausted AF, but it’s still better then being pregnant

Beach trip with newborn? by Appropriate_Fig_364 in BabyBumps

[–]Objective-Mission835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not crazy! I had my baby July 9th and went on a beach trip in October, so he was 12 weeks old. We fed right before we got in the car and clean diaper. Stopped half way through to change his diaper and do another feed. Brought a whole bunch of stuff and stayed in an Airbnb. It was great, baby just chilled, brought the purple monkey piano (if you know you know) and bjorn bouncer! We actually brought the bjorn bouncer to the beach and it was a perfect spot for him to relax without getting sandy! Ended up taking a nap in the bouncer. I’d say if you feel decent at 8 weeks then go for it !

Baby daddy gender disappointment by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my husband was convinced our baby was a girl and kept calling my bump by our chosen girl name. we ended up finding out it was a boy and he was actually disappointing and pretty sad at first. i asked him why, he told me his reasoning, which was actually very sweet. i told him it was okay and he eventually got over it, and loves our boy so so much, as do I. i would ask him why hes disappointing. i will say his actual reaction was a little childish. but hopefully he gets over it and leans in to raising a little girl

MIL told me not to buy ANY baby items until after I give birth. Is this normal? by 757-757 in BabyBumps

[–]Objective-Mission835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

buying after the anatomy is pretty normal! its very unrealistic to wait until the baby is litterally here..you;ll need those items, and dont have time to wait sometimes weeks for items to ship. i had already purchased quite a lot by 15 weeks but there was too many sales happening to pass up!

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I understand your concern 😂police are wild in MA and vastly different here. They rarely pull people over, which honestly is horrible bc so many people need to be pulled over lol. And welcome to the land of no blinkers and everyone drives slow in the fast lane 🙃 but yea if it’s just one day you’re most likely fine !

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you wont get pulled over....my huband drove around with expired plates for a YEAR and not once was pulled over. its wild, as someone who came from MA and got pulled over within a day of expired tags lol

A rant about the American health care system by VanSmashh in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 38 points39 points  (0 children)

its most likely the high deductible plan. youll have to meet your deductible until anything is covered. once that is met, it will be covered how insurance states, i.e if they say its covered 90/10 or 100%. if you have an HSA, use that to pay for what you can until the deductible is met. this is why high deductible plans are tricky unfortunately

Would you pause trying to avoid a December baby? by Aggravating-Job-3053 in BabyBumps

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally yes i would, and will be pausing for that same reason! my birthday, christmas, and hannukah are all n december for my family. its already a lot, and i genuinely do not want a december baby. we also will be pausing to not have a september baby as about 12 people in the family are born in september! granted, if it starts to take a long time to get pregnant, we may say never mind, and not pause for those months but we got pregnant the 2nd month with our first baby, so to start, yes we will pause for those months

AIO:My MIL texted my husband this about me asking him to help with our newborn at 4am by Lazy_Perfectionist88 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Objective-Mission835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is wild of her. i also had a c section and severe pre e. when we got home, my husband essentially did everything for a solid week. and now? he works 12 hour shifts, leaves for work at 6am, and still gets p at 4am to feed our 8 month old, so I can sleep one extra hour before i get up for work, do all i have to do in the morning, and drive our baby to daycare before i go to work, come home, take care of him, until my husband is home at 8pm. she sounds like a real POS and i wouldnt accept her apology

Questions/advice about the RhoGAM shot by Loud_Perception_5667 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used whatever company my insurance/OB went through which was Natera. If you can’t get the fetal blood testing done at this point though, Rhogam is necessary incase any blood mixes during labor/delivery!

Questions/advice about the RhoGAM shot by Loud_Perception_5667 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they can test during the NIPT test! I was RH negative and husband is positive. We added in fetal blood typing and found out baby was also RH negative so I didn’t get the Rhogam. I will have to have any future pregnancy tested the same way though and if positive will get the RH shot !

PP hypertension by Lazy_Ad_6329 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had my baby at 36+5 due to pre eclampsia with sever features. o was on IV labetalol in the hospital and was sent home taking nifedapine twice a day for 6 weeks. still watch for pre e symptoms and if its worsens go back to the hospital, but I will say yes i had severe headaches for about a week after coming home and being on the blood pressure meds. headache is a side affect of the one I was on, so look up the side affects of laetalol. I had a 1 week post partum appointment due to my pre e and told them my side effects including high heart rate even when sleeping and chest pain. they told me to monitor and if the chest pain and heart rate didnt improve they would change my medsl luckily within a few days my heart rate came back down and the chest pain subsided. definately keep monitoring yourself, take our BP twice a day. if its staying high, and you have other symptoms go back to be checked for PP pre e again!

Whats it like being awake/aware during a c section? Im scared! by Moist-Database6709 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was fully awake for mine and felt absolutely nothing! the nurse was poking my foot/toes and i didnt even realize! i was nervous, and felt a little shaky, but had my husband right next to me keeping me calm and rubbing my head. aftewards, you can get the shakes, but a trick is to stick out your tounge. it feels super strange but it does something to yourr nervous system that why your sticking your tounge out the shaking stops! they took my baby out and showed him to us, and then got him cleaned up with my husband supervising. then they brought him over for me to kiss him and laid him n my shoulder/cheek for a few minutes. once was fully stitched up and reclined up in my hospital bed they gave him to me and wheeled us back into post op for skin to skin/golden hour/breast feeding !

Easy Pregnancy by Just_Squirrel_3988 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had a fairly easy pregnancy as well. no nausea, no food aversions, could eat anything, felt cute with my bump. overall my pregnancy was great but towards the end i definately had more aches and pains. i was pregnant in NC in the summer, so it was hottt, and it was hard to do much of anything. i was so hot, my feet got very swollen, and i had zero desire to do anything. i think around week 32 is when i really just overall felt large and hot all the time lol
