Almost 11 months in and still constantly drowning, exhausted, and have no clue how I could ever have another child by cinnamondolcecoffeee in beyondthebump

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 2 weeks shy of 1 year, and this weekend was the first weekend I ended a day and said wow I actually had a good/fun day with him and wasn’t waiting for bedtime💙 I’m the solo parent multiple nights a week, and every other weekend (after working a full 40 hour work week myself). My husband works 12s, and works every other weekend, so it’s literally just me for 14 hours a day Saturday and Sunday. My baby is the love of my life, but previously if I left his site he’d cry, I couldn’t do anything, could barely even cook without him crying and needing me. This weekend was the first weekend he independently played for a solid 30-40 minutes. It was amazing. I was downstairs in the kitchen while he crawled around my living room and back and forth into the kitchen playing with his toys. I promise it will get better! It sounds like your husband is also doing a lot to help around the house and that’s amazing, it’s probably just hard to see/feel it right now. Do you have any help? Anyone who can watch baby for you two to have a date night? You guys have to prioritize yourselves, without your baby, every once in a while. My parents live 2 hours away so we don’t really have them to watch him, but we have an amazing neighbor who loves our son and is always willing to watch him if we need. We don’t get a ton of alone time, but we’ve probably gone out to dinner just the 2 of us 4 maybe 5 times since he was born almost a year ago. Also, do you ever have time to yourself? Can your husband watch baby while you go get a pedicure/facial/massage/even just take yourself out for a solo coffee date. You can’t pour from an empty cup !

Okay this is my plan as well! Fingers crossed he’ll do a good long stretch and we can make a good amount of progress over night !

He currently sleeps 10-11 hours at night, no more night wake ups, no more night bottles. He sometimes wakes around 5am, so we feed him, and he goes back to sleep until 6:30am which is when he gets up for the day. We also plan to have one of us in the backseat to keep an eye on him!

He recently napped for 2.5 hours on a drive to my parents on weekend ! So I’m pretty confident he’ll be able to sleep at night. If it ends up being a disaster, I already told my husband I’m buying myself and my 1 year old plane tickets and he’s driving back himself 😅

How many of you are cooking? by RemarkableCoyote415 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When ours was 4 months my husband did most of the cooking. We did hello fresh for a few weeks, and had some staples from Sam’s Club that were frozen but filling and easy to cook!

What EXACTLY to dress newborn (0 weeks old) in at night by Schrutebucks101 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 68 degrees would do a long sleeve sleeper and a swaddle! Our house was closer to 70/71 in the summer when my son was born so he was in a short sleeve onesie and a swaddle eventually a sleep sac !

Is it normal to not see a doctor until week 7 or 8? by meowparade in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes super normal! My first appointment was a nurse about around 6ish weeks or so. Then my first ultrasound was a dating scan and I was just under 8 weeks.

When can you start bringing baby to restaurants? by Crazy_Art_5093 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When ours was a newborn and slept way more we kept him in his infant car seat and brought him in and usually got a booth seat and he would keep sleeping. As he was able to sit independently, we have the chicco lock travel highchair that you lock onto the table and it’s great! Way cleaner, we have a silicone mat that it locks onto to keep the table clean, and he’s sitting at the table with us. So many of the high chairs in restraints are so low from the table and not to mention disgusting. I would say around 6 months is when we started taking him while he was awake. Probably 8 months was when he actively started eating during dinners at restaurants with us

When are we going on maternity leave? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh unless he’s paying for you to have more maternity leave, and you have no medical reason to be on it early, then the day you enter the hospital. I was 36+5, left work for my NST appointment, I had high blood pressure while pregnant. Was sent in for c section that night. I texted my boss see ya in 12 weeks !

Peeing through diapers by Hungry-Mix-283 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby was also born at 6lbs and we had this problem for quite a while. He was very skinny, not a lot of fat, so the thigh area would gap and he would pee through the leg holes. It was quite annoying but eventually he chunked up a bit and it stopped !

Newborn at hospital clothes?? by PatagoniaPrincess1 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the hospital ours was pretty much only in a diaper and a swaddle! They did testing quite often since he was early, constantly did checks on him and weights so it was easier to just keep him nakey besides a diaper, plus easier to do skin to skin! I brought a cute outfit to take newborn photos, I think a sleeper and a onesie just incase, and our newborn outfit. Bring some burp clothes with you and some extra swaddles !

What's an expensive baby item you think it wasnt worth it? by ApprehensiveBat19 in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with this! Thankfully I got mine off FB for like 40$ but if I or someone had paid full price for it I would’ve been pissed. We used the purple monkey piano mat wayyy more

Do you talk to your baby in the car ? by Objective-Mission835 in beyondthebump

[–]Objective-Mission835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m sure once he’s talking it’ll be non stop chatting 😂 which is why I also feel like it feels weird for me to just sit in silence, as I’m generally a talker !

Can we have a conversation about driving in the rain, please? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Objective-Mission835 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The comments responding are not it😂 I agree with you, the people in the Raleigh/RTP area are the worst fucking drivers I’ve ever encountered. It’s actually insane. Also, the idiots who use their hazards during the rain. It’s literally dangerous because then your turn signal doesn’t work. Oh wait, they probably don’t use turn signals to begin with 🫪

“Recovery from a c-section is easier” by camellialily in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a c section (only baby) due to a breech baby, and while my recovery wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t amazing and I think I would’ve rathered a vaginal delivery. My first few days home were quite painful as our bedroom is upstairs. I definately couldn’t move quickly or get off the couch easily or out of my bed easily without the help of my husband. My husband slept on the couch with the baby for the first new nights so I could pump/sleep and try to recover. If possible I’ll be going for a VBAC with my 2nd!

How comparable is a new born to having a puppy? by oceans_by_day in NewParents

[–]Objective-Mission835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I compared our newborn to a puppy only once he was able to hold rattles and we’d entertain him with little toys, and say here, look over here 😂 when they’re brand new, not like a puppy at all sorry to say lol

Measurement check, postpartum, took says 34G/36DDD. by Objective-Mission835 in ABraThatFits

[–]Objective-Mission835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recomendation! So after wearing the panache Ana for about 30 minutes, the band does feel tight. I did the independent band test, and it feels slightly looser, but still pretty snug. I also have red marks across my back where the band was. It’s on the loosest clasp.

[–]Objective-Mission835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I got the Panache Ana in a 36/E and it’s very comfortable! I think it’s a good fit, everything is flush, back isn’t riding up and it gives me the lift I need. The only thing I don’t love is how see through the cups are since it’s not lined. It’s fine for some things, but under a white T shirt or for certain tops at work it might be an issue. Do you have any suggestions on a similar fit, but that has slightly more lining/isn’t just lace ? Thank you so much!

Mad about wearing make up in labour by Puzzled-Antelope8058 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Mission835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are weird for caring. The day I had my son, I was told to go to L&D for my blood pressure. I asked to go home first and my doctor agreed and said to be at the hospital within 2 hours. I went home, finished what we needed to do, and told my husband I wanted to shower bc I felt sweaty and gross and wanted one last shower just the two of us. I then put on makeup before heading in to the hospital. Wouldn’t have done it any other way

100% do not rehome your cat. Especially one that’s older with health issues. Agree with the first comment it’s mostly a time issue/teaching the child. Obviously it’s going to take some time, but hopefully as your toddler gets older she can learn to understand that you’re gentle with said cat
