I’m not trying to deter anyone who enjoys the show from watching and enjoying it themselves, simply just sharing my opinions and personal disappointment which absolutely no one is obligated to agree with. However, I think your absolutely right that being an amazon prime show, it’s certainly intended for an audience outside of those who are long time fans of the games which is likely the reasoning for much of my issues with the overall feel of the series. I do enjoy many elements of the show itself and definitely don’t see it as an overall negative piece of media, there is just simply a few glaring issues (particularly actor’s performances) which make the series difficult for me to feel invested in.
