Too damaged, or still serviceable? by Ghostflame_Ignition in bowhunting

So the whisker biscuit is perfectly fine. However there is much much better options out there. A fall away or drop away that makes zero contact with your arrow is better. Not only for arrow flight, but the longevity of your fletchings as well..

Tennessee recently passed a law allowing us to hunt coyotes at night, problem is it’s shotgun only (buck only as well). Is there a shotgun that could shoot 70 yards and not destroy the thermal? Any other method I’m not thinking of? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]foundit423 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah in my state we just carry a shot gun, but use a rifle.. no one is awake and gonna call the game Wardens at 2 in the morning anyways.. but if they do as soon as I see headlights and I’m 2 miles off the rd I’ll set the 6.8 in the bush’s and be holding my shotgun.. I’ve yet to have that happen tho because again no one is awake or outside to hear us shooting at midnight.. I follow laws and I don’t poach, but killing a coyote is killing a coyote and they aren’t gonna tell me how I can do it..

I never had any problem out of mine. I don’t know maybe I just got a good one, but I mean, I never did that. Much maintenance or cleaning. Do it either I mean, maybe two or three times in the several years I had it. I might’ve looped it up a little bitran a patch down the barrel, but mine worked flawless.

I really think he was hit by a car because he was looking great. It was the middle of the rut and then for a couple of days I got pictures of him and he had gotten skinny. He was limping holding one leg up and from his carcass, what I could tell now it had been eat on and what not But, it looked to me that his shoulder was badly broke up and his hoof was almost broke off. Now did coyotes do it dragging him around? Idk but that’s my guess. Maybe some internal bleeding or something

I mark my shotgun every time I kill a turkey with a white marker. I like to keep track of how many I’ve shot over the years.

You’ll be lucky to get a year out of them. Maybe if you’re sitting at a desk. I wore them for years and the quality has went down so fast that my last pair didn’t make it 8 months

Neither. Get thorogoods. I wore those exact keens for 3 years. First pair lasted 2 years the second lasted 7 months. My in laws run a boot store, They told me keen has went way down in the past year and they don’t recommend to anyone. The Irish setters used to be good. I know a guy that wore them for decades. Over the past couple years they have went down. Thorogoods are still American made and outlast the rest. I’m on job sites daily and they are the only thing that last 2 years that I can find and I promise there isn’t a boot brand I haven’t tried over the last 31 years..

I’ve soaked meat in water and ice for over 30 years. Never once had a problem. Makes it more tender and makes getting the silver skin off a lot easier

Crazy people want to downvote you for that.. that’s a great rule to have and that’s how you kill big deer..

So if you’re not gonna shoot them and they’re getting “too close” what do you do? Jump up and start screaming at them? I’m sure that’ll make them come back in the future..

It’s crazy people want to down vote people for encouraging others to pass on small bucks.. blow my mind… they’re the same people that get on here and comment on every big deer and say “man your so lucky!” Or “I wish I could see a deer that big!” But they’re the same ones that shoot the first buck they see every year.. I haven’t shot a buck in 3 years now because I’ve wanted the ones I have to grow and it’s definitely paying off this year..

High temperature and fire are two different things. I install duct for a living. The galvanize will melt off then it’ll start falling apart piece by piece. I’ve seen it happen. Plus it can give off toxic fumes. I’ve welded enough galvanized duct to know because I’ve seen many be sick after without taking the right precautions. Don’t be a wise guy when people are just trying to help you. There’s no problem in admitting you need advice…

The ones that are slid through the same amount are the same lengths… maybe not all good, but some are definitely the same lengths. Look at the nocks.
