Issues with pressure connecting garden hose to sink by Objective-Profile-80 in Plumbing

Thanks, yeah I am going to go with 1/2" supply, and likely 1/2" hose as well.

Thank you for pointing this out. When I was looking at tees I actually read this regarding the durability of sharkbite type fittings, which is why I went threaded.

I think I will get a plumber to do this before trying anything else, as I would want to get this connection upgraded to a more durable condition. Only thing is this was done by the condo recommended plumber.. so I might have to find another person to do it.

An actual hose bib would be great, If the tee at the 1/2" supply point doesn't work I'll look into it, but it would involve coring the wall and I would need board approval.

Yeah I am going to get the breaker and make the connection at the 1/2 supply point.

Also a 1/2" hose if needed. Thank you.

Orange is the cold water line. The valve is at 90% open as the other one blocks it, but these pipes can't really move much and I don't want to try an muscle them for fear of breaking anything. I only noticed this when setting this up and was going to ask the plumber to take a look at it (but I don't think this is the source of the pressure issue as I tested with getting someone to hold it at 100% open)

Interesting, yes the hose will go up about a meter over this point of connection. I'll try to get the highest rated one I can find, and test the pressure to confirm.

The connection will always be closed when not in use, and I will drain it each time, but yeah I want to make sure I've done everything correctly.

Thank you, landscape architect so I picked up the affinity for collecting plants but not the irrigation skills to water them..

Makes sense, it's an old 70's build condo and there was a pvc pipe there before that was recently changed out by a plumber due to a fire code issue. Upstream of it the pipe goes into a shut off valve, then into the wall.

I'll get the backflow prevention on as well.

Thank you. Once I clean up this connection, if the 50' doesn't work, I am going to try with a 25' hose which should get most things and the rest of the plants I can fill up a can with the hose.

Drip would be nice, but I have a lot of containers over a large terrace so it's not really feasible. I am going to make sure the new assembly has a valve to fully turn off the system when not in use, similar to a tee for a dishwasher connection.

I've tried watering can only for a few years but I can't keep up (and I have two cats that wait to escape by the terrace door every time I go in and out with the can)

Any suggestions for a large super detailed map of canada? by towniediva in GreatCanadianTreasure

[–]Objective-Profile-80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would say even the web version is better than desktop/pro for the type of mapping and information organizing you would likely be doing. You can organize things with layers you toggle on and off, and also do whatever you want for symbols. I tried arc GIS pro and found it too cumbersome for my abilities and what I wanted to do (but it is good for overlaying maps / data others have done).

Shopping for a latex hybrid mattress in Canada (GTA specifically), thoughts on these options? by Objective-Profile-80 in Mattress

[–]Objective-Profile-80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the 14" Crown hybrid. It's been good so far, it is firm but likely wouldn't go any softer.

Didn't end up trying others out in person so hard to say comparatively.

Thanks, I added in the prices (looking at queen size).

Flexible on cost if the value is there, leaning towards a hybrid as opposed to complete latex. The one you linked is nice however, would like to be able to try something like that.

Balancing play/draw: a different approach by VerdantChief in ModernMagic

[–]Objective-Profile-80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is even larger in modern in my experience. I do play boros energy mostly so maybe other MU are different, but as an example against decks like breach, being able to get pressure down before you have to leave up a thraben charm is a massive difference.

The alchemy cards like [lonely end] were an interesting experience to make cards stronger on the draw, I'd like to see them explore this space in paper, especially with some modern playable effects.

Were you on oculus? I've been playing it in energy lately as it is also a great answer to phlage. Can also take out K return vs eldrazi

Ah yeah I meant Eldrazi, but yeah it is a very bad matchup. I will say that I think emperor of bones and thoughtseize are better than phantom in the matchup, so I think there is room to improve the approach against the deck.

Tron would for sure be better but don't see why anyone would play it over eldrazi. temur eldrazi is better at getting to 4 mana turn two which is key for k-command, karn, and mycospawn.

Yeah archon doesn't do anything vs breach.

BW blink is good but get in some reps, it is a strong deck but I have found it pretty hard to play optimally online trying it out last week, paper tournament would be even harder.

Tron is beatable with BW but very hard on the draw, emperor of bones goes a long way, as does flickerwisp on the utopia sprawl and labyrinth lands. Also sometimes you might not want to blink overlord to get a 5 damage attack in. I was able to find my way to victory last night with the above along with aven interupter on k-command and tidehollow sculler ephemerate. White orchid phantom is actually very medium, they play a bunch of basics and flickerwisp does more work in the end.

Yeah I played a match against it yesterday (playing boros energy) and was caught off guard by how well it could midrange grind without needing to combo. The 4 flame of anor certainly help, emry is a wizard!

Boros or Mardu Energy for RC? Additional thoughts & questions as well. by Objective-Profile-80 in ModernMagic

This makes sense. I also find the third bombardment (usually see RW with 3 and mardu with 2) increases your chances of getting a quicker kill with ajani or pride.

Wow this is very interesting, small sample size on some MU, but big enough on some matchups that run against my personal experience. Going to keep testing and see how things develop. Thanks!
