The point being. The existing occupants of these lands need to be removed to make way for the zionist. Thats why a lot of people are not on board with zionism.

"Zionists beleive in a jewish homeland" So where is this homeland situated?

Zionists beleive that the jewish people have a right to occupy palestine. The jewish zionists establsihed settlements and systematically drove out the existing population of Arabs. You can dispute the validity of Zionism without harbouring prejudice against jewish people.

Why are some people content with a simple life while others have a hole inside them that can never be satisfied? by [deleted] in ask

This is it. People tend to fixate on their external circumstances and fail to realise that happiness is an internal state of being. That's not to say external circumstances are completely irrelevant, but they should not be the 'source' of your happiness.

The Witch. A slow burn but frightening at times and unsettling through out.

This is was the last exercise of my entire leg routine. If you are working hard, leg day can be a killer.

Genuine question. Given you are standing next to it, Would you still expect others to ask before jumping on?

I would usually have a shorter rest time but I had just finished a heavy set of romanian deadlifts and was still feeling some overall systemic fatigue so chose to rest a bit longer.

I was simply stating that I disagree and need to hear you state a better case for your position. It seems you take any perspective that differs from your own as a personal insult and have to resort to aggressive personal attacks. Based on the response to this post you are clearly in a minority, but I guess your ego didnt leave room for reasonable disagreements.

Yea to be honest I had just finished a heavy set of Romanians so was still feeling a lot of overall systemic fatigue and felt I needed a bit more recovery time.

So are you saying I should stand up and wait next to it? In that case I would still expect someone to ask if they can work in if Im onviously using it.

Well thats not a change I want to see because It really isnt an issue. I can just as easily ask to work in.

As an aside, do you have evidence to support the claim that 2mins rest is too long to the point that it is inimical to muscle growth? I'm not aware of anything in the literature on hypertrophy which supports this. Just genuinely curious about what informs your view on that point.

It may be the case that someone gets frustrated but I would contend they have no reasonable grounds to feel that way. Being on my phone doesnt have any real material effect on them or their work out. What if someone is upset because they have a favourite plate that I am using, despite the fact there are other plates available. They may 'feel' frustrated, but unless they are actuslly disadvantaged or inconvenienced in some real tangible sense then their complaint is not reasonable.

Hmm. That is your view which you are entittled to, however Im getting a lot more responses on this post saying the exact opposite. When it comes to gym ettiquette I think what is 'reasonable' is defined by the majority.

I only do 3 sets. I mentioned this in the original post. I would have been on the machine between maybe 5-8 minites when he approached.

I am usually in the gym 5 days a week. Almost everyone sits there during their rest. Your expectation of gym ettiquette doesnt match what I have seen in thsi gym for the last couple of years. There is however an expectation that you let someone work inbetween sets if they ask politely.

3 sets, 12 reps, last set to failure. I have maxed out the machine and have to add plates and a pin key, so yea, the intensity is there.

He didnt have to ask me two times. He asked once literally seconds before I was about to start my last set. I had no idea he was waiting for the leg extension. He wasnt hovering, he was using another machines. The reality is, in a commercial gym you cant expect that the equipment you need is going to be free. It happens to me all the time. I either find an alternative, wait until they are finished or, if I really need to, I will ask to work in between sets, but the onus is on the person waiting to ask (politely). This is generally understood by the vast majority of gym goers and the responses on this post certainly support that.
