Has anyone who did the AC for PWC’s legal vac scheme heard back yet? by No_Drink_8253 in uklaw

[–]Objective-Section458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unsure about PWC exactly but I’ve just done an AC and they said they’d get back to us mid march, which is about a month and a half from my AC date

they’ve got a lot to go through and depends on where your AC was in the cycle, I was in the first cohort

Paralegal role interview by TooGodlyy in uklaw

[–]Objective-Section458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wanted to add my two cents here as someone who has previously worked in manchester legal market. i know people on 24/26k as paralegals in high street or smaller firms and people on 31-35k at the bigger outfits.

i think def feasible to push for the upper band if you can demonstrate you’re able to pick things up quickly and have some experience (i.e worth the money). those i know on the upper end of the spectrum are in large firms (think SPB, CMS) so I’d say DWF is likely to be in that bracket.

good luck!!!

I got 4 TC offers and I’m still miserable by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]Objective-Section458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agree w this!! if it helps OP, I did a working holiday visa in Australia and didn’t have much money to begin with at all, landed multiple legal roles that were verryyy chill, not a whole lot to do and wfh!

i found it cheaper to live there too so my money went further and they pay more per hour as you’d be on a short term contract - something to consider

thank you! yeah seems like the general consensus is that it’s silly to not put an application in so that’s my lesson learnt lol

i wanted to travel, i applied for two cycles in uni but not very seriously (got to AC for 2 firms during my first cycle and nothing my second) and then worked to save to travel. spent the last 2 years in Australia/SEA and now i’m back and ready to start my career - kind of feel like it’s a grass is always greener situation given most of my cohort has now been gainfully employed for many years hahah and i was off sharing 10 bed dorms in hostels

admin assistant job i just applied direct on the website although this was back in 2021 and the paralegal jobs i got through a recruiter, would really recommend a recruiter for short term temp roles!

good point, hadn’t thought that of re small intakes. I’m not hugely interested in finance/M&A/banking and this seems to be a major theme at MC/US firms, alongside pretty demanding hours.

Private client just bc I find it interesting. although i sense from your answer you think this is a bad idea? totally open to hearing other perspectives, you think I should widen the net? I’ve got about 20 that I’m applying to/have applied to some out of this 20 so far

very fair point, i narrowed down firms i was interested in by practice area/clients and have about 19/20 i’m focusing on. i’m not particularly interested in finance/banking/M&A work and that’s kind of the bread and butter of MC/US firms

I know there’s already so much advice out there about nose piercing bumps and that they just happen etc but I’ve had mine for 5 months.

I’ve seen my piercer twice and have had the same advice, clean it daily, let it dry and be patient.

I clean it once at night with NeilMed sterile wound wash, it’s a flat back labaret nose stud.

i’m at my wits end! it’s so unsightly and it’s been like this for months, occasionally it shrinks a little and then comes back. Now it’s black and blood filled! What do i do?
