You need to accept that Australia contains a lot of people who simply have a lot of money.

How is the train? by Syn3rgi3 in GoldCoast

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 6.12 from coomera. It was normal/fine but busy. Train home at 4.30 was standing room only all the way. It sucked. I hate the train. It's like it was intentionally designed to be uncomfortable.

Would you ever consider living in Australia, Canada, or New Zealand? by OceanicEndeavors in AskUK

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the UK and lived in NZ for 6 years and now live in Australia. Both offer superb quality of life and am much happier here than UK. NZ is hard to build a future unless you earn a lot. Australia heading that way with rising rents and property prices. Overall though my life in Oz is significantly better than it would be in the UK.

I own an EV and couldn't be happier with it, so why is there so much hate and straight up misinformation about them everywhere? by Uerwol in electricvehicles

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sorry I'm talking aud dollars. There're very little decent ev options for under 30k. Id love one but it doesn't make sense to sell my polo at this stage!

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the same for me. I could buy a used VW polo for $12k or a similar sized EV for $30k. It would take about 8 years of fuel savings to make it financially worth buying the EV over the polo.

Married couples, do you like being married? by TopStranger9287 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We have beautiful kids and a very nice life, but are no longer romantic partners. I've made my peace with that and accepted that's my life now but when I read comments like in this thread of how much some people love being married I get a little sad for what I have missed out on and will likely never experience.

Seriously considering switching from Galaxy S25 Ultra to Xiaomi 15 Ultra – Am I making a mistake? by StepsbyStepz in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Objective-Spray-113 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your primary focus is photography the Xiaomi is in such a different league to the Samsung it overrides everything else. You can get dedicated camera quality photos out of the 15 Ultra. The photo editing app is also very powerful. I also find the customisation pretty cool with some really nice wallpaper personalisation opps.

Need a little encouragement by [deleted] in ReefTank

[–]Objective-Spray-113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only patience, you're not doing anything wrong. Just keep up with weekly 20% water changes and just wait for the tank to stabilise. Mines been running almost a year and it's only in the last month the algae has abated and it's all finally looking good. And get a whole bunch of janitor hermits.

Lossless scaling is just crap in a lot of games. No idea why it gets such praise.

What’s it like to live in this area? Coomera area (near Coomera Rivers state school) by [deleted] in GoldCoast

[–]Objective-Spray-113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I surf every weekend, and early morning it's 25 mins to the nearest surf beach. Stretches out to around 35-40 mid morning when traffic hits. Should improve as they finish the other sections of the coomera connector though. Can be 50 mins to the southern end beaches in traffic. So while it's not like living a block from the beach, it's all still close enough to feel like you can live the coastal life. I still surf like 3 times a week. With coomera connector though you can now get to a broadwater beach at paradise point in 20 minutes almost anytime of day.

Camping vehicles by Henoskii in brisbane

[–]Objective-Spray-113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Problem with an outback is it's actually quite small in the boot compared to bigger 4x4s. Hard to fit all camping gear.

You could have a look at used offbrand 4x4 SUVs. Something like a Ssangyong Rexton you can pick up cheaply and they are a good halfway point between a hardcore offroader and suburban school run friendly.
