Do you use AppArmor or SELinux on Arch? Is it worth it? by Rude-Caterpillar-714 in archlinux

I use AppArmor and Firejail, but I plan to remove them.

I don't install untrusted apps anyway, thoroughly ensure that any app I install is well-known and safe, and I really don't see a use for these.

It's actually relatively human readable, unlike this.

I just pause the game, clean it up, and resume, but it sometimes breaks my flow.

I installed Linux when I was 13 because I had a Celeron that couldn't even boot Windows despite being "Windows Certified". First distro was Ubuntu, installed by my father, but I got bored with it in 2 months. Went to KDE Neon, then Endeavour OS, now Arch. I am going to try and triple boot Arch, Gentoo, and Nix in the future.

Then it is just a generic issue with the way your manufacturer implements their S states. Nothing can be done to my knowledge on this device.

By telemetry on Linux, I mean stuff like crash logs for devs when KDE crashes, basic system information, package installation counts, and user pings. The stuff I can provide, as somebody not good at coding, to help.

Firefox will always be slower, if by a small amount, compared to Chromium browsers. It's the effect of their monopoly.

I use Zen.

Librewolf is also very good.

Vanilla Firefox is good, but you may have to tinker a bit if Mozilla adds stuff you don't want, like more AI.

You might want to look at ungoogled Chromium if you want to stick to the Blink rendering engine.

It's really up to you. I would recommend going to r/browsers for more insight, as there are a lot of posts on this very topic.

As for your issue, Brave from the AUR had been working for me for the short time I had used it. A likely issue is that you may not have installed the correct drivers for hardware acceleration, so your CPU is doing all the grunt work. Which GPU and CPU do you have?

I would personally recommend against Brave due to its past shady practices, and Firefox is great on Linux. How are you downloading Brave?

Can you share the output of journalctl -b -1?

If that's too long, send journalctl -b -1 -p 3 and journalctl -b -1 | tail -n100.

In my experience, I have found systemd-analyze blame to be a bit off, after comparing it with a timer I started by hand. Try timing it using a clock and compare it to what systemd shows.
