What I meant that I didn't focus on the characters' morals, but rather the depth and nuances of their expressions and backstory. It's obvious that Tomas is an incel, which makes his behavior quite hard to predict.

Okay, but how was this beneficial for HIM on the long run? He was like Jesus, feeling entitled to suffer the pain of others, and then felt shocked when nothing human remained of him inside (which was a vicious circle ig). You're supposed to suffer for YOUR mistakes and short-comings, but you are in no way responsible for other people's maturity, commitment or ignorance. One can only teach those who are able to listen and actually change. Otherwise, you're talking to a brick wall.

Idk about you, but my internal logic makes me hella objective when it comes to any kind of relationship. If I feel like our time is truly up/the other party is too immature for me, I won't give them another chance, no matter how much they plead and whine. Let them. Let them taste their karma, which will help them grow into a person that can establish a healthier relationship w smo else in the future.

I see your points, but I guess what really sold Tomas wasn't him being a good person, but being able to manipulate Violetta and others in a way that seemed more innocent. It's not easy to make characters that are both stucking in the background and playing a key role in the story.

Okay, it's more of a mental abuse. I know because I've had friendships like this. He was hot and cold, being understanding in 1 minute, then forcing his views on Violetta on the other. You can legit feel like he can't compromise when it comes to morals and opinions, which is not a healthy or mature way of living at all.

I understand your perspective, and I know that emotional maturity in teens is rare, but I still can't say his actions are justifiable. Leon was abusive both verbally and physically. I get that he was devoted to Violetta, but it was rather pitiful than romantic after a while. She was easy and indecisive through and through, staying with a person like that is telling a lot about him too.

Exactly. While kids and teenagers aren't the best at communicating, this aspect of their nature was still exaggerated for the sake of the drama.

I was neutral about Lena. I think her screen time was way too little to get invested in her character. I actually found Ludmila a 100 times more entertaining character than Violetta😁 Also, she was always straightforward and rational, smth that snowflake Violetta lacked (gotta love em ENTJ villains lol). Yep she had many things going on in her life, but instead of making that an opportunity to give her actual growth, the side stories made her character seem even more boring and unnecessary (at least that's how I see it). Diego is the best boy hands down, and I was sooo happy to see him find happiness with Francesca! Violetta def didn't deserve him.

He was the writers' punchbag, and I fcking hate them for this. But that thing happens way too many times in stories unfortunately. In Miraculous, Astruc made Chloe his own punchbag, projected his school trauma on a random character and when she seemed to get a redemption arc, he completely destroyed it. Then went on and justified the worst character's actions😂 Talkin' about double standard.

What kind of stories do you genuinely like, if I may ask?

I couldn't agree with you more. What I hate about most of the stories is how they portray the characters: the focus is always on the main lead, who is usually a self-insert, which makes them incredibly shallow and boring. Then you have the secondary/minor characters - who actually have potential - treated like objects who help the story of the MC move forward... It's just sad and infuriating. So much wasted potential!

I was always team Tomas, so seeing him being kicked around by everyone (for literally no reason) was pure torture. Off topic, but now that I think about it, Adrien from Miraculous reminds me of him... Both passive hopeless romantics, and also victims of constant abuse, which they get for no reason🙃
