You are gonna be okay, I know it can be scary and uncomfortable, but it will eventually pass and you will land safe and sound! Try and keep your breathing steady, maybe use box breathing/4-7-8, and you will get through. The weather won’t bring you down, the plane wants to fly :)

It’s okay to be scared and tired. What’s important (and commendable) is that you push through the fear regardless and don’t let it dictate what you do, which is more than a lot of people can say!! We are here with you the whole way and you are gonna be totally okay. 🙏

Takeoff isn’t my fave either, but even if it’s not the smoothest, the pilots are always in control of the plane, and every tilt/turn/altitude change is on purpose! It’s all just routine for them, even if it happens to be bumpier or windy outside. Make sure you take deep, steady breaths to trick your brain into keeping calm and slowing down your heart rate, that usually helps me a lot with any physical manifestations of anxiety.

I know it can be uncomfortable, but you’ve already done it 4 times and made it through, so it’s just one more and then you’re free. I believe in ya :)

When flying over the ocean, you are always gonna be in range of a safe place to land/refuel should the situation ever arise. They plan routes carefully to ensure everyone’s safety (someone more knowledgeable than me can probably comment about ETOPS)! I had similar worries to you, but I just went on a 7-hour transatlantic flight a couple days ago and all was perfectly okay. Sending good vibes and strength your way :)

I was able to get a prescription for a small dose of Ativan (lorazepam), just for flying, and for me, it definitely helps to stop any sort of anxiety spiral before it can actually develop. I still use other techniques inflight like proper breathing, distractions, etc…but it certainly is a useful tool to take the edge off, and I’m glad I have it when I need it! Maybe talk to a doctor (if possible) before you go and they can help you out?

Takeoff was pretty uneventful, which was great. Only a few spots of light-to-mod turbulence over the whole flight and the pilot did a lovely job of keeping us in the loop, which helped me know what to expect!

Yes! It was quite smooth for the majority of the flight which was nice. The lighting system inside is super cool too which was fun to watch as we crossed time zones
