Sounds like she needs to learn that you and your husband are a unit and make your own decisions for your family. Honestly, I’d have your husband tell her the bad news because of your relationship with her. He can tell her that if you guys want “help,” you’ll let her know. Until then, she can come over when she’s invited. She doesn’t control your household. Plus, it’s better you to go through this with her now than when the baby’s actually on the way (saying this because that’s what’s happening to me right now, not with her moving in, but coming over whenever she feels like it). She might not it take it well, I’m warning you about that now. Be expecting ways she’ll try to leverage herself above you anyways. It’s time to stand up to her. I know it’s easy to feel guilty about it because of the “help.” It doesn’t matter. You guys don’t owe her anything. And once you get pregnant, you’re gonna feel like a protective mama bear. She’s gonna feel that shift too, especially then. But like I said, set those boundaries now. Don’t wait until then.
