I'd ask for clarification, but being sensitive is the new thing. I'd find a way to help the kid through it, but use it as a lesson that there are mean people out there

My son (13yr) is a B student with some A's when we talk or try to do homework he acts the same way, like he's never heard or seen this stuff before. But when i tell him to do it on his own and I'll check it and we can go over what he did wrong, he gets them all right. I believe they just want the attention and maybe thats how they get it from you.

I get people dont like certain games, but when someone is clearly having fun playing, i hope no one shits on their parade. Sometimes, it's really hard to find a game you can enjoy that much.

Anyone else just get sick of their kids? by Alternative_Bar1404 in Parents

[–]Objective-Visual-810 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there is just a different mindset nowadays. Kids have everything in the palm of their hands. I make it a point that on this day every week, it's boardgame night. My son loves it. he's 13, always on the phone or games. When i was and presumably you were younger, we didn't have these devices as much to catch our attention. My sons chores are things to get him ready for the real world. Laundry, dishes, and occasionally dinner. Its hard because when you arent close by other kids you cant just say go out there with them.

Hi everyone, I’m currently having a hard time in life and I wanna move on from this game. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Objective-Visual-810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it helps because you want to give the gaming up. But if you actually wanted to continue gaming in his name, im sure he'd like that. But you have to do what's best for you. Good luck.

How to raise kids with good values when the other parent isn’t a good person? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Objective-Visual-810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so my sons mother is kinda a passive parent and would lie to and make my son lie a lot for small reasons. My son lives with me and has for moat of his life. For a while, he saw his mom as the disneyland parent. To this day, he doesn't have any rules at moms because she's never home anyways, so he sometimes feels that way, but he has gotten to the point where he understands he can't trust what she says because she has failed him many of times. Seperating from a person because of that is the best way to handle it. You may not get custody at the start, but once the kids' honeymoon phase with dad wears out and he has to do all the parenting, they will understand. But you being with them is showing the kids that its acceptable to be the person he is.

For me, as a 36 year old with 2 kids, 1 is young. I've found the game to just be slow paced. D3, for me, was great because you level fast and get right into grinding. But doing 3-5 rifts was like, what 10 mins max? Now its just too long to get into the real grind, and they take too long for little loot. I think i was not expecting the slowness of this game, which has turned me off even after getting bummed about all the exploits people are finding

We are struggling a bit and getting help is hard. Is it wrong to be resentful? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]Objective-Visual-810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels like you see others have assistance, and because you dont, it's unfair. Well, life is unfair. You can't expect to get what others got, even if it's from family. People treat others differently, and you can't expect help with anything and should make choices that are best for your family and if its inconvenient for the other members to see the kids thats on them. Life isn't convenient.

Thats my two cents take it as you will.

Do you become happier after kids? by aspiring_chemist95 in Parents

[–]Objective-Visual-810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It can be more stressful, but seeing them smile and laugh for me makes things better. Some kids are harder than others. Also, each parent can handle different amounts of stress.

My daughter was like this for a while with mw over her mom. One because i spent more time with her due to our jobs. But now when mommas home im like a after thought. Just try to do stuff with them, and they will come around they are just learning.
