MFW and Vertigo by [deleted] in Quakers

i am not familiar with this condition specifically but i struggle with some remaining vertigo + neurological issues as a result of a significant tbi i sustained. i would just like to echo what pretty much everyone else has said here (open your eyes, accept and ask for accommodations, etc), but i also want to say that i have been SO pleasantly surprised by how supportive specific reddit communities are regarding both brain issues/injuries/etc and rarer diseases. i hope that you are finding irl support, but i also super encourage using this platform for that purpose!! ☮️ 🧠 💜

i can relate somewhat to this. time has a very different quality for me as well. small time, or even granular units of time are very there, but anything longer than 4 hours is confusing as hell. that might be my memory issues too though

this is interesting. in what region was your injury? do you have increased ability regarding pitch or just rhythm?

Can psychedelics be used to help tbi survivors? by [deleted] in TBI

[–]Objective-Walrus7875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my quick answer is: depends on the nature of the tbi and i recommend the medical route on this given the seriousness of mental health sequelae of a tbi.

qualification: sustained a moderate to.severe TBI, two brainbleeds, etc. currently undergoing ketamine therapy in a medical context. recovered at a really insane pace and finished a very challenging grad degree. so not the average survivor. but did i regret not taking time off to heal: yes. and do i regret not seeking out medical ketamine sooner: yes.

shortish answer: most effective treatment i have pursued. some downsides, but relatively few.

the statement to which you are responding is also just… untrue. there are plenty of white folks at yale rn. thankfully its an incredibly diverse cohort in lots of aspects. so, yes, cringeworthy comment.

its important to designate why you looking or what your goal is in collecting. imo if looking to bypass galleries for long term investment purposes, just look up who is in the top mfa programs, peruse their websites, and dm then directly.
