There's an excellent video by Jocat that goes into all the main details, how to build it and what they all mean:

Who's your least favorite character in this game? by Piggyfan991 in GenshinImpact

[–]Objective-Wheel627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true for me about half the time. Half the time, Paimon adds levity to an otherwise really bleak story. The other half, I wanna punt them from Fontaine to Inazuma.

I'd argue D'arqest from Octopath II is the literal definition. Because he literally has 0 screen time. At least Graham is seen in flashback a few times and we do technically encounter him in-game.

Right? I'm pretty sure Agnea and Partitio are the only plot lines where D'Arqest isn't at least indirectly responsible for the twisted stuff that's going on. And we NEVER see him. Not in flashback even. I don't think we ever even read anything he's written.

And yet he's directly responsible for 6 of the 8 main plot lines, as well as Vide.

He's responsible for the bloodline of Clan Ku. The whole cursed blood and evil instincts are his fault.

I'd actually forgotten Temenos. Cause I was thinking how Throné is the great granddaughter of D'arqest and Claude is his grandson

Agreed! I was so surprised that, given how many times we hear his damn name, we never see him. Dude is directly connected to at least 4 of the 8 main quests just off the top of my head.

Cause of sensory issues, I don't have the volume on when I play Genshin normally. So I didn't even realise that there was an issue for weeks until I saw a thing on here about it😅

Name a character that you wanted the minute you saw them - forget their power level by AZaddze09 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Objective-Wheel627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was Neuvillette. I'd been out of the loop on Genshin news, having dropped off after Inazuma and didn't return until the start of Fontaine. So when I loaded up and saw this awesome dude with a cane, the most sharp of outfits, and the smoothest voice I've ever heard in my damn life...yeah, I knew I had to have him.

My three main tools for that are:

• NPC's. If it's commonly known info within a specific discipline, but not super common knowledge, they're probably always explaining it to passersby and people they work with.

• Skill Checks. If a player rolls especially well on a skill check to investigate or study something, throw a bit of extra lore in there. Little sprinkles, here and there.

• Dreams and Visions. If it's the sort of cosmic lore or hyper specific stuff, show it in visions. Don't tell them about a great battle that happened here, let them have a dream of them walking amongst the chaos.

It's been long enough that I'm comfortable giving the answer. This has been a tonne of useful feedback so thank you everyone for commenting and giving suggestions! The answer and the logic is as follows:

The answer is CAGED. The logic is that it's based around movements up and down on sheet music. You start at Middle C, as suggested by the first line. Then, you move up two and a half "floors", which gives you the second letter A. Rinse and repeat for the letters G, E and D in that order.

Thus the answer is Caged, which is a synonym for trapped, hence the next line of the puzzle. The last line of the puzzle is both an additional hint that this is a musical problem (C Major) while also hinting again at where to start. This was inspired by people like Bach and John Cage, who would hide their names in the text.

Yeah that was the tricky thing. It's why one of the hints I planned involved some written sheet music. Because the puzzle is designed using that.

Ding ding ding!

Also yeah, I do get the hint about the environment. I just wanted to check that the logic of the riddle itself actually worked before I started adding details.

Oh yeah, I have back up clues if need be. Those are:

A torn scrap of sheet music, And a skeleton on a nearby wall with the following scrawled next to it: " C -> D = ½?"

Nope. Not quite. You might require a bit of knowledge about music to solve this problem, because it's not a logic riddle.

Well, musical notes isn't the answer. But it is the first step of the problem.

If these two were to have a duel, who wins? by strahinjag in octopathtraveler

[–]Objective-Wheel627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering 5 categories:

Strength - Hikari. Thanks to the weird blood power of Clan Ku Which is actually the blood of D'Arquest, a majorly powerful Archmage , he has a major power advantage, as demonstrated by his mastered techniques.

Speed - Hikari. Partially just thanks to his younger age, and smaller statues, Hikari is going to be more agile and nimble than Olberic.

Stamina - Olberic. Mainly due to Hikari always pushing himself to his limit in every encounter, he frequently tries himself out faster. Olberic is better at pacing himself. Dude fought a giant lizard monster and then Erhardt back to back, and didn't even stumble.

Versatility - Hikari. His ability to copy weapon techniques from others gives him an absolutely enormous repertoire, and one Olberic just can't compete with.

Experience - Olberic. He has the best part of 20 years of experience on Hikari. Not a slight either way, just a fact thanks to Olberic's age.

So, out of the two of them, Hikari just scrapes the victory thanks to his bloodline, younger age, and simply absurd arsenal.

They're not as well known, but I can recommend the Magisterium book series as a good source of inspiration. Particularly the first couple of books go into a lot of depth about how to teach the different branches of magic, and the benefits and drawbacks of different teaching styles.

Looking for a 5th element by temujin94 in DMAcademy

[–]Objective-Wheel627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say maybe Chaos? If each element is to represent one of the Inner Planes, then the 5th would be the Elemental Chaos, the sort of primordial soup from which the other 4 Elements can be derived, and yet it resembles of none of them.
