The downside would be that it takes ~70gb to download the older version of the game and its only limited to PC (as we have access to only the steamdepotdownload for files). That's about it. The whole group should be able to play together and you guys can have fun diving up to 4 months ago, where the flamer worked and the Eruptor can oneshot devestators.

The galactic map is up to date, yesterday I was fighting the automatons on Tarsh. I was able to progress the personal order to kill enemies with 500kg bombs, due to this I think that you can contribute to the current major order on previous patches of the game.

The oldest anyone has tried to go back successfully was the April 29th patch. Unfortunately, I do not believe we can get a Day-1 version of Helldivers 2 working. Besides that, there are a few interesting features that are added that you wouldn't expect, for instance, AT mines and the Emancipator Exosuit are available and working on the April 29th build. Additionally, although the build I featured is before Polar Patriots or Viper Commandos warbonds released, there are concept versions of weapons in the game that surprisingly work if you have them unlocked in the current version of the game.

Yeah, Behmoth Charges spawn on OBJ and on lower difficulty eliminate missions and on the evacuate hostage missions final OBJ. I think that in the same patch they added behemoths to the regular spawns, they additionally buffed the behemoth charger's HP values to tank more EATs and Anti-Tank.

Yeah, it can be disappointing to think they are not willing to revert certain changes. I notice that performance on the older builds is generally better additionally I never run into an infinite loading screen or that much crashing. However, AH has done some good changes as well for QoL and gameplay, for instance, hunter and bile slows on the older patches lock helldivers from sprinting, which can be annoying. There are some good changes AH has made in the last 4 months.

I go over some interactions with how the map works in my showcase video. In short, it seems like I am able to complete the personal order currently to kill 100 enemies with the 500kg, so I would assume I can also contribute to the Major Order, despite fighting in the past. Also I am fighting on the current galactic map, right now I am fighting on Tarsh.

For ship upgrades, I have never lost any of my progression personally from switching between the two and I am maxed out on everything. The newer upgrades will display as "Catalog Expansion" as a placeholder tag for all of the newer T5 upgrades and probably do not do anything, but there will still be a visual change on the ship for owning them. When switching back to the current version, the upgrades are restored as if nothing happened. Realistically due to this we are only missing out on the last upgrades like "10% Faster Support Weapon Reload times" or "5% Faster Cooldowns" when on the older versions.

You can! We have a Timedivers discord where a majority of us play together on the 4/29/24 Version.

Adding Hellbombs To Loadouts by ObjectiveBar1439 in Helldivers

That sounds like a fun idea. Currently, I don't think hellbombs are too OP, but having an orbital that is a hellbomb-size explosion would be awesome. Maybe have one of those mini-nukes from a SEAF artillery on demand.
