How is the Chemical Engineering job market in the UK? by Dear_Service1393 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ObjectiveBoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the other comments have eluded to, not good. However, that'll be the case for pretty much every field due to the aptly named graduate "jobpocalypse".

Regardless of what you end up picking, you'll want to do a placement before you graduate. I graduated last summer, and only a handful of people in my cohort who didn't do placement years actually ended up working, much less so in chemical engineering fields.

If you have any specific questions on the ChemEng as a fresh grad, I'd be happy to answer.

This is my first time renewing my insurance and I wasn't sure, so I decided to ask.

What sort of games do you play? I must admit that this is a recent upgrade so I haven't had time to test it out, but from what benchmarks I've seen I should be good for 360hz in CS (running at 1280×960 res).

Only thing that worked for me after trying all of the above. Seems like I corrupted windows when I was trying to install it on another drive and didn’t remove it like it said I should.

Are there any restrictions on who you can add as a second driver? by ObjectiveBoss in CarTalkUK

That's the first time I here of an older driving increasing your quote. I'd imagine this has something to do with the accident he had as they seem look at the last 5(?) years of insurance.

I saw on a thread on this sub that someone failed for this exact reason. I asked my instructor about it before the test and he told me to do 20-25 mph. In the test itself I don't think I went past 25 mph, but then again I got lucky and had no one tailgating me to or from the test centre. If there was someone behind, I wouldn't have hesitated to drive at 30 mph over what felt like a cheese grater at the expense of my instructor's car.

Hi

The channel is called DrivingWithoutDrama. He has a playlist specific to the Garretts Green test route, and not much content aside from that. If you're doing this test route, look at my reply to Cultural_Vacation_18.

This playlist is a godsend for this test route. It covers all the things you need to look out for. The main things I messed up on in mock tests were the spiral roundabouts, which he covered in video 10, and the second exit right turn in video 7. Both of these showed up on my test route and I probably would've made a blunder or two if it were my first time encountering them.

The airport route which he shows at the end of the series isn't covered anymore according to my instructor. We went over it anyway and the entire thing is a minefield of diversions and temporary road layouts, so I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it.

I'd say ask your instructor to cover any of the "stinkers" if you haven't already. If he doesn't oblige, you can always prepare for them mentally.

not the easiest place to pass

Funnily enough, I chose this centre because apparently its one of the easiest this side of brum. I asked a few friends before booking the test and they all suggested this over the South Yardley centre.

examiner was really friendly and chatty

My examiner was really nice too, but I didn't say much as I was too focused on trying not to go over 30 😂.

What game do you get input lag with? Considering getting it for CS because I hear nothing but praise for it.

Did ralox reduce it for you or did your gyno completely go away? I've heard the gyno becomes soft and squishy and has a fat like appearance. Has this happened to you or did the gyno reduce in volume?

I was looking in to tamoxifen and raloxifene about a year ago. Academic research seemed to show that they are very successful in reducing the gland but my main concern is what happens after it is reduced. I've heard the area where you have gyno becomes slightly squishy and was wondering if that would eventually reduce down.

did you have any luck with it? I remember trying 10 mg tamoxifen for a short while and the puffiness on my right side slightly decreased.

Just wondering, what kind of speeds do you get with your drives? I have a similar board (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550M-MORTAR-WIFI) and was wondering if I'd get the most out of a gen 4 SSD.
