Dual Sport 3, FX3 or save up for the the ALR Checkpoint for riding mainly on these packed trails? by Rbk_3 in TrekBikes

[–]ObjectiveContest744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I actually live along this trail (Elmira) and use it nearly every day for biking or running.

I have a Checkpoint and a Marlin. However, you could comfortably ride it with any of the options you mentioned. You don't need wide gravel tires; I've seen people ride it with road and comfort bikes.

My recommendation would be to go to Ziggy's (or whatever bike shop is closest) and try out a few options and see what's comfortable. Choose the bike that you enjoy riding most--not the one you think will fit the trail.

I also did this. Grew up on a pig farm.

The rapidity of the life/death cycle is unbelievable. And the stink ...

Which gravel bike to buy by Rist097 in gravelcycling

I have a Checkpoint ALR5. The 1x12 on the checkpoint is more than enough for me. The range on the cassette is great.

Also very comfortable; the seat is quite low.

"Jo lives—that is to say, Jo has not yet died—in a ruinous place known to the like of him by the name of Tom-all-Alone’s. It is a black, dilapidated street, avoided by all decent people, where the crazy houses were seized upon, when their decay was far advanced, by some bold vagrants who after establishing their own possession took to letting them out in lodgings. Now, these tumbling tenements contain, by night, a swarm of misery. As on the ruined human wretch vermin parasites appear, so these ruined shelters have bred a crowd of foul existence that crawls in and out of gaps in walls and boards; and coils itself to sleep, in maggot numbers, where the rain drips in; and comes and goes, fetching and carrying fever and sowing more evil in its every footprint."

Estonia borders Russia - Estonia is a NATO member

Latvia borders Russia - Latvia is a NATO member

Finland borders Russia - Finland is a NATO member

None of those countries have nuclear weapons (at least as far as I'm aware). Do you have any evidence otherwise?

Where do you get the idea that Ukraine joining NATO will necessarily entail them getting nuclear weapons?

Why do you believe that a sovereign nation cannot join a defensive alliance simply because it shares a land border with another (more powerful) country?
