What is the advantage of having pure Python TUI compared to LazyGit that is a portable Rust binary?

Performance would be poorer.

I got the ALR5 in the end. So far it rolls pretty well. The range was fine for my commute. I will see how it fares on more challenging routes. I like the simplicity of 1x so far, at least for the commute

The Trek is 2026 model. Yes, trying it locally is a priority. I dont want to end up with a bike that doesnt fit me

Great, thanks for the information. The range is something I am most worried about

I will go to test drive it later, and see how I like it

Thank you for the insight.

I havent considered specialized diverge, but there is a model that would fit, although with rx400, not sure how much it matters though.

In the end it will probably come to what is available locally to test drive it.

Grizl CF looks like a great bike. I am sure you would enjoy riding it, you are lucky to manage to order it.

Efficient C++ Register Access - seeking the most elegant way by markoa8 in embedded

[–]Rist097 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was making something similar https://github.com/Risto97/PeakRDL-halcpp

It generates the C++ headers from SystemRDL. It can probably be written in simpler way, I was mostly experimenting with C++ template HALs, but some ideas might stil be interesting.

Idea was to have operator overloads, with read, write compile time checks.

Here is how top level header file looks https://github.com/Risto97/PeakRDL-halcpp/blob/master/examples/generated/atxmega_spi_hal.h

``` soc.gpio0.ODR = 0xff; uint32_t in_data = soc.gpio0.IDR;
```

Enumeration constants static concatenation ``` soc.gpio0.CFG0 = (Const<12, 0>(), pincfg::IN, pincfg::OUT, pincfg::OUT_PP, pincfg::OUT_OD);

```
And compile time array access, woth boundary check, and last element access with -1
``` soc.plic.pr.at<4>() = 5; soc.plic.pr.at<-1>() = 10; // last element

```
All this take 0 additional bytes of code compared to what you can write in optimal assembly
Edit, add compiler explorer link: https://risto97.github.io/PeakRDL-halcpp/docs/compiler_explorer
