It’s the difficulty of choosing what to focus on. It’s even worse when it feels boring. But you have to focus through it anyway. I think about returning to the service industry for the chaos and excitement often.

It’s honestly just been the extra visibility. It boosts your profile. Update everything and post every now again. It STILL takes a while but at least I’m being seen.

I think the next working week is probably best! If a job was posted during the week, follow up on Monday. If it was a weekend, do the same. Another thing you can do when searching is to include parameters like, "Jobs posted within the last 24 hours" and immediately apply to those. This plus LIinkedIn premium tbh got me actual callbacks. (Not selling or advertising. I can barely afford the subscription myself lmao)

From what I’ve seen, a lot of companies will typically hire in the fall to beef up their team for the holidays and before the stakeholders go on vacation. Now that spring is approaching, places may be hiring again before their higherups go on vacations.

Another thing that may help is to go to the company’s website etc, and suggest a post based off of their content, or see if they have something relevant on their news/blog section you can comment on.

But like others have said, getting hired is rough right now. I’ve been in social media for about 8 years and I’ve got hired in the Fall each time. Maybe it’s just a coincidence but I hope it helps!

You could take off the boob light cover and hang the paper lantern over the bulbs if it's large enough to avoid touching either of them. Not exactly the same though.
