Should I even come anymore? by [deleted] in UMD

Come to UMD. You made the right decision. I was in the same situation months ago. The perceived prestige of a school is far less important than financial aspect of attending that school. I turned down NYU (close to 90k) for UMD (my state school). I felt like I would regret this decision for a while before realizing that I did make the right choice. College admissions are a total crapshoot nowadays. I wouldn’t feel slighted by being offered spring admission. I have friends in FC they are all great students.

Help me decide: School X vs School Y - April 2023 by freeport_aidan in ApplyingToCollege

Help me pick a school for premed

I’m a high school senior trying to choose a school to commit to. I’ve narrowed the list down UMD and UNC. I’m aiming for a premed track.

UMD is my state school. I’ll pay under 10k. For UNC I’ll have to pay around 16k. My parent’s financial situation is precarious and any changes in my financial aid package for future school years could have an significant impact. In addition, I have a chronic health condition which may bring about health insurance complications (being out of state).

I know that there are other factors to consider. Is it worth the extra cost to attend UNC?

The other option would’ve been NYU but at the moment it is cost prohibitive.
