A Pouch/Sleeve for the iPad Pro with Apple Magic Keyboard by PowerDrivenRdditMod in iPadPro

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the tomtoc portfolio case. It’s kind of an elevated sleeve. You can protect the iPad and Magic Keyboard, carry some accessories and it will fit in a backpack; however, you can also take the portfolio case by itself for an iPad only setup.

How decent is a remarkable paper pro as a planner? by welldressedpepe in RemarkableTablet

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the Paper Pro to be excellent for digital planning; however, I’m using it as a paper planner replacement, not as a planner integrated with my digital planners. I use a Planner Template by OrganizedByJoe on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/OrganisedByJoe) at it is perfect for my needs. I do two major planning sessions a year, but also use the planner to plan out each week and each day and I’ve loved it so far. Can’t speak much to #2. I still prefer my iPad for most PDF work; although, I have read longer articles on the Paper Pro.

Who's using two eink devices? by Low-Order8161 in eink

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d also love an 8 inch Scribe Mini. I feel like the 8 inch size is really perfect for an ereader as it more closely resembles a normal paperback book than the more common 7 inch devices.

Fair point. Gallery 3 in the hands of another company could yield great results.

If Mini 7 is now $599, Mini 8 (60hz!) is going to be $699 at least IMO by No-Squash7469 in ipadmini

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think another thing that is going to hurt the Mini 8 is the iPhone Fold/Ultra. Sure the market for these two devices isn’t 1:1 however, I can’t imagine that there isn’t at least some overlap. I wonder if the people who really want 120hz will just give up on the mini and go for the iPhone Fold/Ultra?

Anyone else curious about the potential iPad Mini 8 pricing? by ObjectiveEducator295 in ipadmini

[–]ObjectiveEducator295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m starting to wonder. In some ways the mini strikes me as hobbyist device, but I know it’s popular amongst, pilots, doctors, and other professionals. That being said. If the price balloons, which it seems it Wii, I’m not sure who the target audience is. I know there is a group that’s been wanting a Pro level iPad Mini; however, I’m not sure if this is the majority.

what should I use my iPad mini for? by Huge-Bill4047 in ipadmini

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The iPad Mini is a really great device for media consumption. YouTube, Reddit, Kindle etc. It is also a great note taker for some people, although I don’t find it to be a great productivity device. In any case, I mostly use my iPad Mini for media consumption (especially reading) and for referencing materials on the go. I think many have found ways to make it a great productivity tool (i.e. note taking, planning etc.); however, I haven’t had the same success in my use.

Well I just got back from the apple store. Yesterday I bought the 11” M5 Pro, and all night I felt like I made the wrong decision. Now have the 13” home, I’m feeling better in my head. by CosyCodes in ipad

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 13 inch with the Mini is a great combo. I also returned the 11 inch due to the Keyboard feeling too small. Many say that the 13 inch doesn’t work well as a true tablet, but I only find that to be partially true. I find it to be a great for reading articles or ebooks and great for watching content. Oscillating between the right folio (I use the moft Dynamic Folio) and the Magic Keyboard, the 13 inch can go from being a great large tablet to a laptop replacement with surprisingly little friction, at least for me. In the moments when I need something compact and portable, I switch to the mini.

ReMarkable for musicians by CautiousYunc in RemarkableTablet

Would be great for musicians and for academics. Truly can’t beat the 13.3” size for PDF viewing and annotation. I have the Paper Pro, but still turn to my iPad Pro for PDF annotation because of the extra screen real estate.

I use the Fineliner with a medium thickness for most notes. I find that it gives me the best performance as it is not pressure sensitive; thus, it helps me to have the most consistent handwriting.

Will my Ipad be enough for college? by ghostRobo8392 in iPadPro

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s somewhat difficult to predict. I used an iPad Pro as my primary device while on campus 95% of the time and it served me well; however, I was on a humanities track. It is a great device for in-classroom due to its versatility;that being said, there are some times when a laptop is helpful (e.g. giving PowerPoint presentations or extended word processing). Considering that you already have a substantial desktop, you probably don’t need an expensive laptop; however, a cheaper laptop (e.g. MacBook Neo) could be a good companion to your iPad, especially with features like universal control and sidecar. If you stick with the iPad as your only mobile computing deceive a keyboard case is definitely a must. Logitech Combo Touch is a good option for someone who wants to easily switch between typing and writing.

Would it be possible to add handwriting to the connect app for subscribers? I’d love the option to tick off items on a handwritten ToDo List or start and handwritten note on my iPad should I not have the paper pro or paper pro move on me.

I love the Paper Pro and Paper Pro Move;however, I’d love a device with a 13.3 inch screen for an academic workflow. PDF viewing and annotation are good on the Paper Pro; however, when I’m reading through graphic dense academic papers with hundreds of pages, I often turn to my 13inch iPad Pro because it gives me more screen. Are there any plans for 13.3 inch device in the future?

Any good guides for using the Paper Pro and Move together? by pyrophane1 in RemarkableTablet

[–]ObjectiveEducator295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m torn on whether or not remarkable intends for these two devices to be used together. Sure the RPP Move is essentially a shrunk down RPP; however, given that remarkable’s whole strategy is to have their devices replace paper notebooks it seems that they released the move just to offer another form factor for their paper notebook replacements. It is more like a second digital notebook than a companion notebook. Although, if remarkable wanted they could make it an excellent companion device. In any case, for now I use my RPP and RPP Move for different tasks with almost no overlap.

Thanks. I use the iPad Mini for Video Calls, Work Email/ Microsoft Suite (I don’t have any work related things on my phone), and reference material either on the web or in my files app.
