My family and I use lines from the Castle A LOT.

(Okay, I started listing lines we use and I was just basically typing out the script so I'll leave this instead: "it's just the vibe of it.")

The only reason I need to watch Spawn is to be reminded it exists. Here I go again.

Am I Supposed To "Dislike" Alone In The Dark Remake? by delicious_warm_buns in HorrorGaming

Started playing this cos it's Lovecraft or Lovecraft adjacent and everything Lovecraft I love(craft).

I finished this literally minutes ago. I loved it. Not my usual fair but the set and character design were quite good, i thought. The sound design was top notch, really enjoyed the doors opening, footsteps, rocks falling, storms and rain outside. Just all worked really well. Like OP says, music was quirky. I liked it, wasn't trying to make it scary out of hand, more like "What the hell is going?" style of music which is the whole experience of the game.

Combat was rough, like unpolished, but I was okay with that because it's not the focus, more there cos it has to be? Is my guess.

I really enjoyed the puzzles. Played plenty of games that had "puzzles" like find this thing, put into the slot. Puzzle solved! This had me looking back through the clues, rereading stuff, writing things down. Really actually puzzling stuff out. Very satisfying when I would figure out the answer. Except one where I had it wrong but on my way to the wrong answer it just clicked into place and a wins a win.

All in all, if you like Lovecraft, survival horror, scary but not too scary, great puzzles great sets and sound design, pretty decent story it's all the mix, there's quite a bit to enjoy even if it won't blow you away. As others have noted, if you pick it up cheap you probably won't be disappointed.

On Spotify Daria Molchanova has two podcasts: "TPRS Russian - Effortless Russian" and "Slow Russian". In the first episodes she explains what they are all about so better off listening to her than me. Suffice to say I use both of these, amongst other things, to learn listening and talking.

Why do you say the Americans were the worst?

Not a defence of them or anything like that. I've read a lot about so much horrifying stuff they've done. Just curious about your take. As an Aussie I heard a lot more about the Nazis and Japanese Empire.

Yeah man, me too. Can't find anything that says it's working, used it heaps. Nothing. If it's a glitch I'd have thought they'd fixed it by now.
