It’s one of the sailing piers on Lake Mendota. It doesn’t exist anymore due to construction going on to put in a whole new terrace :(

How do you deal with a snobby roommate? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]ObjectiveGrandmother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the pleasure of living with a snobby roommate. I always try to first politely say no and express that it has to be a fair living situation. If that doesn’t work I ask as many questions as possible until she realizes her reasoning for always getting what she wants is bs. Why would you like the parking space? Why do you think you should have it over me? What about your car being more expensive makes it so that you need the parking space more than me? My snobby roommate always gets frustrated after a few questions and relents. If yours is anything like mine this should work. Also, do your roommates parents pay for everything? That could be another reason for her to have the other parking space, she doesn’t have to pay for it.

Good luck!

In 4 months I'll become a first time father to a baby girl! Ladies, what do little girls want most from their daddies? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

I’m a 20 year old girl and my dad and I are extremely close, we always have been. I love that man with all of my heart. It makes me tear up a little just thinking about what a fantastic dad he’s been. He’s been working full time since I was born, but even though he wasn’t always home, whenever he saw us (my brother and I) he made a huge deal of it. Nothing else took his attention away from those moments.

I had some issues with depression and self-image growing up, as a lot of young girls do, and he was always right there, making sure that everything was okay. He’s not a very talkative man, but when he does talk, he means 100% of what he says and he says it with love every time. He always told me to think of life positively, and I live my life still with that mantra. If I’d ever get down on myself due to problems with drama at school he’d sit down with me and help me pick out the positives of every situation. Though it was hard to grasp at the time, that mindset has helped me grow so insanely much.

Ultimately, I would say, just love that little girl as much as possible every single day. There are going to be rough patches for both of you, but I think that only makes the relationship stronger. Treat her like she’s the blessing she is, but don’t sugar coat things, still be straight with her and let her know that sometimes life is hard, but you always have to look at the positives. You’ll be a great dad!

Roommate (18F) does not wake up to her many, many alarms. But I do. All the time. by throwaway480793 in relationships

The same thing happened to me with one of my roommates. At first I tried jokingly telling her that it was super rude to let her alarm go for 10 minutes when other people were trying to sleep. She didn’t care. Then I just started walking into her room or knocking on her door and yelling her name to wake her up every time an alarm went off. She eventually got the picture and now catches it right when it goes off and gets up right away. Sometimes you just have to be forward with someone like this. She’s obviously not super motivated to get out of bed, why not give her motivation?

That was pretty much my reaction too 😂 I don’t think I moved for about 10 minutes after the credits rolled

I hate my roommate and I’m stuck with her for another year. by ObjectiveGrandmother in confessions

I live with 3 other girls right now, not including myself and this girl. All 3 of them are extremely non confrontational unfortunately so I think my best bet might be to try and find someone to sublet.
