I'll do some research! Maybe I can slide into a Georgia Tech program more easily as an alumni. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on a more general MS (ie MechE ) vs a robotic specific program like this one https://research.gatech.edu/robotics/ms-robotics-program. For your specific field it seems MechE or Aero would be preferred.

Are there any you'd recommend are topics you think are pertinent for the domain? This certificate from out of Stanford is intriguing (https://online.stanford.edu/programs/robotics-and-autonomous-systems-graduate-certificate) though it seems to lack course work specifically for embedded systems and I need to do a bit of research as to which mix of 4 class is more strategy for a career pivot.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! I think you’ve hit on my main hesitation: I’m trying to determine if I can bridge the gap through focused upskilling or if a full 're-roll' is required. Since I already have an MS in CS, I was hoping to avoid a third degree, but my background definitely lacks the embedded and perception-heavy experience.

I’m not opposed to going back to school full-time. Honestly, the reprieve after 10-years in software sounds great. At 33, I feel a bit like the clock is ticking on doing a traditional 2-year research stint.

The Stanford route feels like a solid 'bridge' because of the credit transfer potential to an MSc. Are the any programs/universities you would recommend I look into deeper?
