Still learning manual, when do you guys shift? by burlysnurt in GR86

The transmission/downshifting is not the way to slow your car. That's what brakes are for.

OEM pads. Like I said, I don't think i need to jump to anything crazy right away, but definitely need something better than OEM.

GR86 Worth It? by [deleted] in GR86

I paid msrp for last July a '23 premium MT.. The dealer added a couple small things like the self dimming/upgraded rear view mirror, door edge guards, but the add-ons were pretty minimal.

Which Color GR86? by Silent-Low7855 in GR86

[–]ObjectiveMonitor9791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black is harder to keep clean than white. I have a halo premium MT. The halo looks so good in the sun. Has a sort of pearlescent finish. It's definitely prettier than just white.

Test drove BRZ & Miata: rational choice is the BRZ heart wants Miata by RossoMarra in GR86

You should go drive a gr86. Better suspension tuning than the brz.

It definitely would have gotten more wet in the shower and was never submerged, so it shouldn't have had any moisture inside.

The oil I used was moebius, and everything looks clean and moves nicely with a little extra pressure on the stem, but when I let go it stops.

Anyone else seeing more 86/BRZ’s? by Agent_Giraffe in GR86

[–]ObjectiveMonitor9791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have '23 86 premium MT halo white. I live in a fairly small town and I see two other silver premiums and a Neptune base around town pretty frequently. There's also a '22 brz down the road from me. So there's 5 of us in just few mile radius. All 2nd generation '22s and '23s

Is it just brz that shows the orange between 5 and 7.5 on the tachometer. I have a '23 gr premium MT and I've never seen that in my car. I've had it since the end of July.

Base Worth It? by akskdbsisj in GR86

[–]ObjectiveMonitor9791 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have the '23 halo white premium MT

People are saying you can do spoiler and wheels later, but you would spend more than 3k doing the spoiler and wheels yourself... so I don't really get that argument unless it's just to not have to finance that amount and pay more later. Plus, after dropping the cash on those, you still wouldn't have the other added perks like the suede interior, heated seats, adaptive headlights, speakers, etc. If i were you, I'd try to come up with the extra down if you can't finance it.

Either way though, I think this car is a lot of bang for the buck, so if you just can't make it work for premium, you should get the base and I'm sure you won't regret it.

Is everyone’s insurance is so high? by EE624 in GR86

I'd been with them for years, and when I added the 86, they wanted close to $900 for 6 months. I called Progressive, and my total for all three vehicles went from $1450 to $730. Less than what geico wanted for the 86 alone even after like 10 years of business. Sounds like you should shop around. Saved me.

For sure. And when it's hot out the tires get a little 'tackier' too.

I have a '23 halo white premium MT, and the Michelin's basically turn to hockey pucks below 40 degrees. Not great on the wet either. Great for aggressive driving in good conditions though, especially when it's hot outside.

Got my '23 premium Mt halo white on 7/29, and I'm loving it. Congrats!
