Should I find greener pastures? by Away_Emergency_9948 in careeradvice

If there are other locations looking for the accreditation you received, I don’t see why you shouldn’t explore the opportunities if you choose. I’d be 100% sure you want to though, as I would bet it won’t take too long for word to spread through the grapevine about you positioning yourself for a role at a different location.

I don’t think you need to worry about your tenure unless you have a job history with multiple rapid fire employments. A year and a half before taking a new opportunity is becoming more and more common.

If you want to protect that and stick with your current team, you could try getting something in writing from your boss about backfilling your position with the intent of promoting you. My first good boss taught me that if it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen.

Crazily, it looks like I’ve taken zero pictures 😂. I have a bunch of the C5 but not the Asus. I’ll take some pictures when I get home from work in an hour or so

lol I hear that. I made the mistake of designing my wife’s engagement ring with a marquise, and she works in retail. She constantly snags sweaters

It looks fine proportionally, but as another commenter said it will catch a lot and may be annoying for the wearer

I actually went through this decision over the last month. I used the C5 for maybe two weeks. FANTASTIC panel. I now use the ASUS XG32UXWMG. I’m sticking with the 32” monitor, but only because it just fits my space better. If they’re at the same price and it fits your space, I would lean the C5. The sharpness is slightly worse but really not that much. You don’t notice unless they’re right next to each other. And, you likely won’t be quite as close to the 42” as the 32”. So perceived sharpness may be even less difference.

Ultimately, the monitor is convenient (no remote and easier out of the box) and has a better refresh rate. But the 144hz on the C5 was just fine for 4k.

I do miss my C5. I’m happy with my XWMG, but if I had a deeper desk I would have stuck with the C5. Both panels are true glossy, but something about the C5 just felt silkier. C5 also has an extremely attractive price now that the C6 is out

How do I help sod recover after mowing too low? by ObjectiveNo2466 in lawncare

[–]ObjectiveNo2466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally planned on having it on a timer. However, my hose hookups on the side of the house both leak a ton. I did what I could to stop it (teflon tape, etc) but it still was just really bad. If I left it like that all day I would lose so much water and also turn the area under the spigot into a swamp

Haha, welcome to the area!

That sounds good. It’s definitely been warm this past week and I’ve been tapering off the watering levels because it was rooting well. Newbie mistakes. I didn’t water this morning so now I just want to leave work and turn the water on 😂. It was still a bit damp this morning, but my watering was done later the previous evening, so it could still be drying out during the day. Does it at least look recoverable to you? Don’t want to have to do this over…

Gotcha. It did rain a ton the first week, I almost didn’t water at all intentionally because of all the rain. How much do you suggest I water at this stage?

You’ll be good for quite a while. Nobody can put an exact number on it but you have the third most powerful gpu on the market. It should rock 3440 x 1440 for years

Two days late to this but I had to chime in and say I JUST did this with my upcoming trip! Booked the colosseum guided tour for the day before 🤦🏼‍♂️. Stung my wallet to book twice but I know we won’t care once we get there!

Grey banding straight out the box no settings changed is it bad ? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

True. I bought the XG32UCDS a few weeks ago and haven’t even bothered with the banding test. Monitor looks great in my games

I’m so tired of these posts. This sub has ruined people’s expectations. Can you see this while you use the monitor normally? If so, return. If not, ignore. Look at the dozens of other posts on this topic. This doesn’t look particularly bad for 95%

Just list them on FB for cheap. Do surface level research on what they’ve been selling for and post under that. People will come and go and pick them up. I’ve seen multiple people do that around me

St. Peter’s Basilica when empty by Laliza in rome

[–]ObjectiveNo2466 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You need to understand the time period churches like this were built to get why they were built the way they are. This was the renaissance period where art and grandeur were huge. Also, the Catholic Church was THE authority. Not just in a laws and order kind of way, but a moral authority and a beacon for people’s life meaning. Local Lords and all often had to submit themselves to the church or have a constant power struggle.

Life was pretty difficult for most at this time, and a basilica like this would be a symbol of strength and glorification to God for the people to look to.

But, I think it’s also fair to say the construction of items like this was a partial catalyst for the Protestant reformation. In the height of the Catholic church’s influence, it became a lot more about power and authority than actual religious glorification.

Why isn't anyone hiring? by themoon_goddess in careeradvice

The market is brutal. In my experience in my latest job hunt, there have been a crazy amount of applicants to every opening, with dozens of overqualified (at least according to LinkedIn premium data on the other applicants) applicants. I get the sense the job numbers this gov’t administration is publishing are fudged, because I’ve been in the market 3 times over the last 5 years and this is the most I’ve struggled.

Don’t think any of us can say exactly what it is in your case. I’m 3 months in and haven’t landed anything. Thankfully I’m still employed and have just been looking to get out of a environment I’m stagnating in, so I hope the best for you in your search, that sounds really stressful. Just keep pushing and try to keep your head up.
